Re: UVA Class of 2012
So I boasted about the furniture I got from Wal-Mart a couple days ago. Well, now that I've assembled it, I must say I regret buying it. The file cabinet and bookshelf are fine, but the desk took forever to assemble and is a piece of junk. Rather than spend all year dealing with a wobbly desk, I decided to go to Staples. I found an absolutely amazing desk for $30, and it took only 20 minutes to assemble. For anyone still in need of a desk, Staples is having great deals on desks that are actually decent.

Well, compared to yours and Eric's, no. But I have two desks in my room now!

I'm not a fan of highlighting either--or notes in the margin.limegreen wrote:Am I the only one that does not use highlighters ever? I thought about buying some today at Office Depot because everyone acts like they are a necessity in law school but I hate them!

Quick question so I don't feel like an ass tomorrow: what is everyone wearing? I recall the orientation materials saying casual but is everyone sticking to that?

If I see anyone wearing a suit to orientation I will seek them out and stuff them in a locker.MAD1984 wrote:Quick question so I don't feel like an ass tomorrow: what is everyone wearing? I recall the orientation materials saying casual but is everyone sticking to that?

Re: UVA Class of 2012
I noticed on the schedule there is a ton of down time during orientation, is there stuff we need to be doing then or is it just for mingling, etc.?
Also, is anyone bringing anything like their laptop or whatever? Is there anything we are supposed to bring or need to have with us?

I am probably going to wear either jeans and a casual shirt or shorts and a casual shirt, depending on how cooperative my boot is.MAD1984 wrote:Quick question so I don't feel like an ass tomorrow: what is everyone wearing? For part of your downtime you're going to be on a law school tour with your small section PA. Other than that, it's just mingling time. I don't think most people brought laptops to orientation. This is your first major chance to meet your class so I'd say walk around and talk to people.limegreen wrote:I noticed on the schedule there is a ton of down time during orientation, is there stuff we need to be doing then or is it just for mingling, etc.?

Oh, no, so there is a lot of walking involved? Do you think they would let me skip the tour or something?gladiator wrote:For part of your downtime you're going to be on a law school tour with your small section PA. Nope, not a PA. Easier to help out who I want when I want instead of being assigned a section and given required duties.thesealocust wrote:Are you a PA, or do you just help orient us on TLSgladiator wrote:For part of your downtime you're going to be on a law school tour with your small section PA. I guess you could probably skip the tour? Just ask and they'll probably understand.

I just found this online...seems like a good idea if you're planning on eating at the law school at all. Every little bit helps, right?

I configured my iphone a few weeks ago... pretty easy if you follow the instructions from ITC and the wireless coverage is pretty good (I had WIFI in the parking lot).limegreen wrote:Also, has anyone configured their iphone yet? It seems like a huge ordeal.
