haha... interesting combo.bermuda wrote:I’ll throw down for a party once I get moved in (early Aug.). Or, if anyone wants to start making regrettable decisions sooner rather than later, I live in Brooklyn and it's almost warm enough to have a party on my patio.

Anybody here already a New York Jets fan? One awesome part about attending Columbia is going to be actually getting to see all the games - us out of market NFL fans get screwed.

Random question: did you receive any immediate confirmation of your deposit? I did the online thing on Monday but it was hard to tell if it went through or not (and my card isn't charged yet). I'm probably being needlessly obsessive... when will I relax about all this?booyakasha45 wrote: Yeah, I sent my deposit about two weeks ago after the admitted student program.

I also sent in my enrollment decision over a month ago. Did not receive a confirmation, nor an e-mail address yet, but the website says I submitted it, so. Shrug!bermuda wrote:I was also concerned that I didn’t receive any confirmation from CLS. Edit: You can also try and re-do the enrollment online, but it should tell you that you can’t because you’ve already completed it.

I enrolled in February and I haven't gotten anything either! (not even my fin aid package...) I feel like they like to send stuff on Friday so I'm hoping in 2 days I'll have a couple e-mails waiting...whyamidoingthis wrote:ummmm I enrolled weeks ago and I didn't get jack today except a reminder about admitted students' days. It seems not to have any negative impacts on women, but the problem is that for a guy, generally what happens when drinking cosmos is a series of increasingly regrettable decisions. I'm not really sure why it works that way.bermuda wrote:I think it’s the result of classic tastes running into vodka-only DC happy hours.booyakasha45 wrote:haha... interesting combo.bermuda wrote:I’ll throw down for a party once I get moved in (early Aug.). I do have a soft spot for Greyhounds, though - excellent antioxidant properties - but if I'm going to live in New York, I'm going to drink lots of Manhattans... especially with Crown Royal to celebrate my Canadian heritage

Sigh. I like drinking.

Re: Columbia Law School 2012!
I'm a beer/wine girl (well, mostly wine - trying to get into beer at the moment, but I do prefer a glass of tempranillo). However, it's been a few years since I've really "drank to get drunk," which it seems you use cosmopolitans for. I'm a lightweight anyway (fairly slender) and can typically get drunk after a few glasses of wine (or two martinis), so then again I'm probably a much cheaper date than you.bermuda wrote:I’m going to have to disagree here. Personally, I’ve never been able to fit as much alcohol into a drink and not been able to taste it as I have with cosmopolitans. I use about 2/3 vodka, 1/6 triple sec, and 1/6 cranberry juice (dash of citrus optional). It packs quite a punch. Oh yeah, I don’t use martini glasses…I’m not completely socially ineptLem37 wrote:Anyone choosing to drink cosmos = regrettable decision.
That said, I’m really a beer/wine guy and mixed drinks are a rarity for me.

+1 whiskey sours
Also, Godfather's are great, especially when accompanied by a tightly rolled cigar.

For shame. There are plenty of other tasty drinks that don't expose you to the awkwardness of ordering a Cosmo as a guy. That being said, as you point out, wine/beer = always a good call.bermuda wrote:Personally, I’ve never been able to fit as much alcohol into a drink and not been able to taste it as I have with cosmopolitans.
