I used to study at the Olin Library Cafe all the time. Good coffee, and a nice place to relax. There's also a Starbucks in collegetown now.treschic wrote:Ohhhh all this food talk is making me hungry...
Are there any good cafes? I have a bit of a caffeine addiction when it comes to study time and always need to know where the good stuff's at =P

Oh man there are so many great places to get late night food. When I visited I loved the new burrito place in collegetown - it was even better than all the food I had missed so much since undergrad!treschic wrote:Best late night eateries?

But really, the best place to eat in Ithaca is Maxie's. God, I love Maxie's.

i think my personal faves in terms of dining are:
- the japanese place (starts with an M) in collegetown
- the hibatchi place next to the mall (starts with a K... as you can see, i'm not very good with names)
- Bear Necessities aka Bear Nasties (it's in RPCC on North Campus... they have good lunch despite the name, and they take BRBs! plus you can order online and pick it up)
- Okenshields / Ivy Room (Willard Straight Hall)
- DP Dough (you can order online and they deliver!)
- Trilllium (Kennedy Hall)

I dunno about chinese, but there's good korean in collegetown. Four Seasons (on eddy, I think) is almost like being back in Seoul, though they could use a little more heattreschic wrote:Any good Chinese food?

Peace on Collegetown Ave is decent. Cheap and quick.
But the Vietnamese food up on Dryden is way better!

Four Seasons is good, but if it were really like being back in Seoul, you wouldn't be charged $12.95 for a bottle of soju.sheltron5000 wrote:I dunno about chinese, but there's good korean in collegetown. True, but I had (decent) kimchi-jigae for lunch, so I didn't even look to see if they had soju, I'm surprised it's on the menu at any price.fsohn wrote:Four Seasons is good, but if it were really like being back in Seoul, you wouldn't be charged $12.95 for a bottle of soju.sheltron5000 wrote:I dunno about chinese, but there's good korean in collegetown. That's hilarious! I personally find pandas very endearing. So much, in fact, that I once bought a pillow with bamboo filling just because it had a picture of a panda on the package.Applesauce wrote:Okay, that made me laugh out loud!panda wrote:

Re: Cornell Class of 2012
Okay, so I applied for housing just in case I couldn't find a place and today I was assigned to Maplewood. I would rather have my own place so there is no chance for housemate drama (not that I'm difficult to live with or anything
). It was my last choice after several room sizes in Hughes, but now I'm not so sure and I only have 14 days to respond. Anyone here also living in Maplewood or familiar with the 4-person, two to a bath setup? If so, how did you like it?

Re: Cornell Class of 2012
It looks like I will be joining everyone for the class of 2012. You can add me to the list at the top of this thread. I also have a quick question. I am kind of new to this whole process of creating a facebook account. Have you found it useful to belong to the cornell facebook groups (both the official and unofficial ones)? Any downsides to these accounts?
Thanks so much and I look forward to meeting everyone in the fall.
