Somehow, I doubt that. But because I'm so nice, I will.

LOL, no I'm just kidding. That phrase just sounded really badass. "This is bigger than you." I felt like fucking Gandolf for half a second. Amazing.

I'll admit it, I liked it. I'm enjoying this mystery/potential mafia connection/maybe he or she is Jesus in the flesh situation we have going here. Either way, I'm being quiet now.airlineraddict wrote:LOL, no I'm just kidding. That phrase just sounded really badass. "This is bigger than you." I felt like fucking Gandolf for half a second. Re: From Rejected to Accepted (same year)
Just chiming in here to note that, FWIW, I was offered a reconsideration by a school that axed me before my Feb retake score came out. (I never let any schools know I was retaking because I wasn't sure how it would turn out; in fact, following exam, I actually hoped to get in as many decisions as possible before the score came out since I was certain I had screwed it up badly).
I don't know what the outcome of 'reconsideration' they said I would be eligible for would have been - don't really give a shit about the school any longer, to be frank, and they never really were at the top of my list to begin with - but I would not be surprised if I had in fact gone from rejected to accepted in the same year. LSAT score changes are huge - my cycle certainly proves it - so if OP can, in fact, significantly raise his score in June, his hopes are perhaps not as misplaced as they might sound.
All that said, I would recommend reapplying altogether if (s)he pulls off a great retake.

yes, I think assuming he/she can make a huge improvement (and that's certainly not a give-in) this is the best course of action.

I think February and June are probably different animals. The majority of schools still have lots of slots available when February scores are released. By the time June scores come out the only slots they have are random ones that open up due to summer melt.dresden doll wrote:Just chiming in here to note that, FWIW, I was offered a reconsideration by a school that axed me before my Feb retake score came out. Are you being completely accurate? If you're referring to Michigan, they didn't axe you, they waitlisted you. The OP is in an entirely different situation.I was offered a reconsideration by a school that axed me before my Feb retake score came out.

I remember reading somewhere that OP is on no less than 12 waitlists.

Re: From Rejected to Accepted (same year)
The timing is certainly a valid concern which is why I recommend that (s)he reapply altogether. I just wanted to note that I do find it possible to go from rejected to accepted in the same cycle - but only if LSAT score changes are notable. I don't think a single other factor would do it.Cleareyes wrote:I think February and June are probably different animals. Re: From Rejected to Accepted (same year)
No, I am not referring to Michigan. It was most definitely a rejection. I am somewhat uncomfortable with the idea of airing school's name on board (even if my cycle is effectively over) but I will pm it to you if you are curious.airlineraddict wrote:Are you being completely accurate? Since OP is a URM, 169 would definitely make a difference for a new cycle.

Oh, it is all good. There is definitely a difference between rejection and wait list and I would not obfuscate it. All that said, I agree with you in substance that reapplying makes no sense if the person does not improve materially in a substantive way - and preferably on the LSAT front since I don't foresee any other factor being nearly as effective. I don't expect anyone to benefit from weaker pool the second time around, particularly with admissions getting more and more competitive with each cycle.airlineraddict wrote:Sorry, just making sure.

I have a serious question about this point, which is maybe where I was confused before. Particularly if OP is an URM-- applying earlier really doesn't help? Let's say for argument's sake he applied in late Jan/early Feb this year. Even if his application doesn't improve LSAT-wise, would applying in early Fall really not give him a better chance? People had always stressed to me how important early apps were, but maybe since I'm also an URM that's why.

Not really sure if it's getting more and more competitive. Yes, the economy does drive things, but we're also seeing the end of the effects of the baby-boomer era. Expect things to slope downwards drastically in about two or three more years.dresden doll wrote:Oh, it is all good. Interesting theory. I would be curious to see whether you are proven right in 2-3 years. I will envy those applicants a little, if so.airlineraddict wrote:Not really sure if it's getting more and more competitive.
