If you go to NYU, you can live in Brooklyn; if you go to Columbia, you can live in Harlem. Much cheaper.whyamidoingthis wrote:That's good to know...by other places I meant unsubsidized uni housing in Ann Arbor or LA. I seriously doubt that I would want to pay standard NYC rent and LS tuition...at least not if what any of my friends are paying is any indication. I guess I'll just have to wait to see where I get in before I make my decision on the dog...

and you can commute from NJ to NYU, not to CLS though
some parts of jersey city aren't bad, and hoboken isn't bad. avoid newark obviously though

My boy will definitely be coming with me. He had to stay home while I went to undergrad because I lived in a fraternity house and it would have been too much for him. Fortunately, life will be considerably more peaceful/down to earth in the fall and he'll be able to live with me.
If I could figure out how, I'd post a picture. But alas... I still think computers work by magic

I've wanted a dog since I was a little boy... but my mom hates dogs. I most certainly plan on getting a puppy next fall.

Well, this is kindof cheating on the dog poll, but I already have a Maltese and I'm staying right where I am for law school, so she's coming with me... even though we're not really going anywhere.
If I was moving, though, I'd take her. Does that count?

What about cats?
I was thinking about living on campus, but I've decided to live off-campus just so I can bring my cat to law school with me.

I actually really want to live on campus if I move to a new area. But, seeing as how I have these two monkeys on my back (just kiddin, I love my Yorkies!) I have to live off campus.just a girl wrote:What about cats?

to be contrarian to amy, PI - i should say, though, that it's contingent on getting lucky enough to have the benefit of H, Y, or S's lrap - if not, probably soul-sucking biglaw for a few years to pay down debt, then reevaluate
