does anybody else's loan counseling still say 'incomplete' even though you completed it weeks ago? I have my confirmation page and everything but the UVA SIS system still says that i haven't completed it.

That's good news. I had dinner at the corner the other night and happened to be next to a table of really loud law student girls. They kept saying how bad things were and how they feel really bad for 1Ls and the new students, it was a really depressing dinner.

I've started searching for a good seppuku knife in case I don't make $160k in Manhattan BigLaw and live the ultimate models-and-bottles lifestyle right out of law school .

I know, I was kidding. If I had any reservations whatsoever about going to UVA law school, I wouldn't go. I have a stable job with good pay, so I have a lot more reason to be reluctant about going than most if not all of the rest of you.

Agreed, it was just kind of awkward. Their table was RIGHT next to ours and they were exceptionally loud. They were also talking about how some guy wanted to hook up with them, etc. etc. I am pretty sure everyone eating there could hear their entire conversation.

Yeah, none of this is cheery news... but such is the state of things in so many areas right now, beyond just law. Expectations just have to come down a little bit, and that was inevitable. Also, I suppose it depends on how you motivate yourself, but I've been kind of... "excited" is a bad word here (thesaurus suggestion: "adrenalized") by the bad news, as all the talk of coasting from the median to a Biglaw job had me worried about becoming complacent. I wouldn't be taken aback if someone called me a fool for thinking that way, but it's my own silver lining.

During the bar crawl, some kid sat at the table next to us and was on a total emo rant about the LSAT and not getting into the law school he wanted or something like that. So at least you're all better off than that guy.

PBS has finally put Masterpiece Mystery! online, and they've got the most recent show up. Yes!

Completely irrelevant, but I haven't posted in a while, and I want to help our thread reach 200 pages :

I was visiting my parents, and we were watching the newest Mystery!, which is a Miss Marple. My brother and his girlfriend were there, and his girlfriend, obviously not familiar with Agatha Christie, was like "wait, could it be Miss Marple [who did it]?" The funny part was that even after we explained to her that no, it couldn't, she still kept wanting Miss Marple to be guilty.

The really funny part was about half an hour later when she said, "Is this set in England?" Uh, yes. "Oh, so that's why they're all talking like that."

She actually just graduated college with highest distinction from a good state university, so she's not an idiot...just maybe a little lacking in common sense?
