You don't know what section you are in yet but you can see when each section's classes will meet and who the professors are. I am sure there are likely to be minor changes but I know it was fun and exciting last year when I was an incoming 1L each time a new piece of information was available.

Care to give us the lowdown on any of these profs?
I can provide some insight regarding a couple of the professors.

Contracts – My professor is no longer at WashU.

Torts – Norwood – Very fun professor and her class was quite enjoyable. She clearly enjoys teaching the class. The level of reading is not bad. Last year she had a no laptop in class policy which I presume will continue.

Property – Carfield – Last fall was her first semester teaching the course. The direction of discussions was largely directed by the students in the class raising issues associated with the cases we read and opining about how they felt. The class had a lot of policy discussion but the exam was a more traditional exam covering black letter law. This was the only class where I felt I needed to brief the cases to feel comfortable discussing them in the level of detail required for class.

Legal Practice (Writing) – Moul – Nicest lady on the planet. Class requires a lot of work and a large time commitment, but that is the nature of the class and not professor specific.

There's no reason not to. If you don't get along with the person, you'll never really see them again. If you do, it's a great source for questions and answers and mine ended up becoming my best friend at the school

Trust me, it's just as awkward applying to be a Mentor. We have to list two events we'd bring you to. Sadly Captain Geech and the Shrimp Shack Shooters aren't going on tour anytime soon

Only 1 more month before I move to STL. Unfortunately I haven't looked for housing since mid-June. Time to get started on that I guess :|

hahaha what, actual events! i should've been more specific dammit! also, moment of disconcerting self-realization when you quickly and thoughtlessly fill in your "hobbies and interests" - then look at it and the first thing that crosses your mind is "oh no i'm going to be matched with a nerd that likes this stuff" haha

I was looking through craigslist for a friend and i can't even begin to tell you how much better the housing market is for renters now than it was last summer. STL is cheap generally, but wow, there are some unbelievable places in the CWE and other areas for great prices. If I'd known I wouldn't have re-upped my lease. Oh well.

Is anyone not doing the mentor thing? I'm not sure how helpful it is to meet with someone twice a year. And won't we be meeting a lot of 2 and 3Ls in the various organizations that we will be involved in?

I'm not going to bother. It feels too much like a cross between the big-brother program and internet dating.

No thanks WUSTL--I think that I'll fend for myself.

Hey guys,

I just came back from St. Louis...my first time there. I met Dean Clifford and toured the school too...very nice!
I also paid a deposit down on a 2 Bedroom, 2 Bath apartment in Central West End. Now I need to find a room mate. I'll be moving in 7/23.

Anyone interested, send me a pm for details.

I found a really nice 2 Bed/ 1 Bath furnished condo in Central West End. I am afraid to sign the lease before I find a roommate though. I am a little wary of getting a furnished apt but I do not want to move all my stuff. If anyone's interested just send me a pm.

Hello all!

I have just been informed that I will be joining you all this fall! So I guess I need to make up for lost time and start looking for an apartment/roommate ASAP! I've never lived away from my home in Houston so it's going to be a very big change!

Anyone interested in a roommate still? I'll be visiting St. Louis next week so if you're looking for a roommate email me and we'll see if we can work it out.

See everyone soon!

Is anyone else thinking about the transnational law program? If so, how do guys think it will impact OCI and job offers?

I am DEFINITELY taking a picture earlier and sending it to them......too much scarring from high school and college pictures to EVER do that again.

I'll be there, and I'm starting to look forward to it. After throwing down moving expenses, I'll be psyched for some free dinners.

LOL...you must of recently gotten the new letter, the free dinners was one of the first things I noticed too. I'm going to be kinda hurting until financial aid is dispersed.
