that does seem like a high number; an unlimited monthly metrocard, for 12 months (i think the COA only takes into account expenses that one would ostensibly incur during the academic term), at the upcoming rate of $89/month, is still only 1068.
cabs i guess? i'm surprised they would factor in student's laziness/late night risk issues into their cost analysis though--that would seem to be too practical of an approach lol

What are other Tier 1 privates like GULC, GW, Cardozo, American, BC, BU running these days?
Is anyone reconsidering in light of the tuition hikes?

nahh...i mean of course i'm not happy to see the increase, but in the end, and extra $10k or so wont seem like much down the road, despite how it may feel now

ultimately, the difference for all of these schools is 5-10k total? It really isn't a game changer if you knew you were going to be paying sticker anyways....nitsudrx wrote:I'm having a major panic attack re: the new tuition.

True... well, BC/BU you end up saving about 30k total. Even before though, it was way beyond what I wanted to spend. I know that's a given, and it's true for everyone, but this just seems obscene at this point.hoffb86 wrote:ultimately, the difference for all of these schools is 5-10k total? I like Fordham because most people are paying something near sticker. You don't have this vast economic divide in regards to scholarship distribution. You aren't dealing with 2 schools in one.

i know this is not very comforting for those living outside of nyc (or comparable big cities) but cost of living will essentially be the same whether you're in school or not....i'd still be living in nyc even if i werent attending fordham

I think that for the most part this current scholarship cycle is done, so I would be looking at applying during the 09-10 academic year. Being an RA doesn't sound too shabby either.nitsudrx wrote:When are you planning to start applying for them?silenziatori wrote:This reinforces my intention to hit those scholly apps hard next year. How much is it to stay in the dorms at fordham?
Where is everyone planning on living?
What about the roommate situation?

Re: Fordham Law School Class of 2012
Well, I knew this increase was coming but my heart still skipped a bit.
I too am glad that the economic disparity (in terms of schollys) isn't that great at Fordham. This means that Fordham will have more money to make the school better and a better school should benefit the students and alumni. However, I am slightly upset that this put's Fordham's tuition (and COA) above Columbia's '08-'09 tuition (this year's isn't up yet, so Fordham won that race!).
I'm interested to see how Fordham justifies this hike, and wonder whether or not it will come up at the College Cost Reduction and Access Act seminar next Wednesday. Anyone going to that by the way? I'm now definitely leaving work early to attend.

Same, Looking in Hells Kitchen, but with the prices, I think I'll most likely end up UWS. Wouldn't mind it.the fledgling wrote:I plan on going solo in the UWS. Peace of mind by the park. Look what I found! It's Columbia's new COA, courtesy of Lex Talionis, in this thread: http://www.top-law-schools.com/forums/v ... x&start=50

Since I'm not a mean person, I won't insert a mean comment here. I do feel slightly better about our tuition, though.
