You'll have to enter your parents information for them. I called up my parents and we went through all the info over the phone. I agree that its a pain in the butt - I'm 28, married, and have been financially independent of my parents since I was 22.WIdan wrote:For those that have filled out the UFAA, am I correct that they want financial information for all students, regardless of your age? And the only way to fill out my parents' info is to have them fill out the worksheet and then I enter it in the electronic application? Am I the only one who thinks it's none of my business to know all the details of my parents' current financial situation?
Edit: Ok I see now that it's students 28 and under that are required to enter parent info. My other question still stands, although I think I know the answer. There really isn't any way for my parents to enter their own info?

2010, first game is at USC. So just mark us 0-1 and press on from there. At least 2009 has no automatic losses.

Re: UVA Class of 2012
Wow, October 10th seems early in the season for a Homecoming.
Do many law students care about the sports teams/go to football games? I always hear that people mostly just support their UG programs. But my UG was terrible at sports and we rarely played anyone better than Montana, so I'm excited that I have a team in a bigger conference to support (even if they're no better).

Re: UVA Class of 2012
I think those with weak or small UG sports programs are more likely to be excited about coming to support the law school. A lot of people hold their UG allegiance though. It didn't help that we were terrible this year though so a lot of people were disheartened by that. I went to UVA for undergrad so I don't really know the experience of having to compare the two. We have a nice football stadium and basketball arena though so it's nice (and free) to go to games. The baseball and lacrosse teams are good too but I've never been to those games.jsporter wrote:Wow, October 10th seems early in the season for a Homecoming.

The nice thing about UVA football is that the UVA-Tech game alternates locations every year... We get 2 years of UVA-Tech game at home!!

Unfortunately it's almost always Thanksgiving weekend so you have to stay here during break to see the game.vamedic03 wrote:The nice thing about UVA football is that the UVA-Tech game alternates locations every year... We get 2 years of UVA-Tech game at home!!

BC on November 14th! I was kind of hoping that it would be in Chestnut Hill so I would have an excuse to go back to my school and visit, but this just makes it really convenient.

I'm so glad I have at least a somewhat legit reason to cheer for a non-mid-major football team now.

I hate to say it, YCrevolution is kind of right. Basketball is the big deal, but our footbal team has given us a something to cheer about lately.I guess that's what being an out-of-state student will do to you.
If I'm not dying that weekend, I'll probably go down to Chapel Hill and watch the game.

Re: UVA Class of 2012
My observations:
USC was a big game for obvious reasons, but a lot of 1L orientation-type stuff was centered around it to. So, that got a lot of people out to the game. Some people I know went to the odd game here and there (UM homecoming game comes to mind), but it didn't seem like many law folks were going to too many games. That said, the stadium is really nice and has some charm. The fact that we sucked by the time some of the good home games were starting didn't help.
I'd say 75%+ of the people I know root for their undergrad. A buddy of mine at Duke says it's pretty much the same, even with respect to basketball.

Re: UVA Class of 2012
I'd almost be tempted to say that TCU is an automatic loss at this point. Our schedule doesn't seem too bad, though. UNC, Maryland, and Miami might be problems away, but we have BC, VT, and GT at home (and no away game at a school like UConn for us to get blown out).gladiator wrote:2010, first game is at USC. lol, given how complicated things got in the coastal division this past season, I wouldn't be surprised if something like that happened.showNprove wrote:or if for some reason a UVA win would hurt UNC. I don't see how that would happen, though, considering UVA isn't very competitive in (important) athletics these days.

I'm a Tarheel born, I'm a Tarheel bred and when I die I'm a Tarheel dead.
Ironically though, when I was accepted to UVa Law in mid october, it was the week UNC played UVA in football. UNC lost when UVa made a game winning drive in the fourth quarter. Weird timing.

I attended UNC my 1st 3 semesters of undergrad before transferring to UVa. The full year I was there we won the National Championship. (Felton, May, McCants)showNprove wrote:+1RTF wrote:I'm a Tarheel born, I'm a Tarheel bred and when I die I'm a Tarheel dead.

I was a sophomore when we won in '05.
How do you like UVa vs. UNC? One of the major reasons I wanted to go to UVa Law was because it had a lot of similarities with UNC.
