Yeah, I think I'm out as well. I sent in the deposit to reserve my place, but I've since changed my mind.
I wish you guys the best of luck at Iowa.
This is getting sad. Declining yield ftl

Hi guys! I've been following this thread for a while. I just got accepted last week (even sent in the deposit) but I've decided to attend a local T3 instead because I simply can't afford Iowa's tuition. Have fun in IC!

As somewhat of a follow-up to Kiwi's, is the general consensus that Iowa does not anticipate any additional scholarship's to given out? I really want to attend, but when given the option of a full ride at T2 school, this will be a very hard decision. At this point, I intend to put the deposit in the mail in the next day or so and hope for something to come through ...

That does suck. Best of luck, New Madrid.
Hey thanks, guys. I'll miss chillin with you up in IC with a half-pint of gelato. Just think of it as one less dude putting pressure on the overtaxed urinal plumbing in Boyd.

BRING ON THE DEBT!! While I have a full-ride at U of St. Thomas--Minneapolis, Iowa is CLEARLY the better choice even though I'll be paying 20k in rez tuition plus 15 k in living expenses through loans. It is logical I think. I'm going to get a money order at my bank today (I ran out of checks!), and here I go!

If I had in-state all 3 years, it would be a no brainer for me, too. But given how much tuition rose this year (nearly $40,000 OOS), the thought of having
total debt including housing and UG at less than tuition costs alone at Iowa is very tempting. A $25,000 JD would be nice...

Wait, so you're a nogo crystal? I thought we'd get along real well in law school too.

Ha, not necessarily. If I get a full-ride from said in-state school, that's where I'll go. If I don't, or if Iowa can offer something other than only loans, then I'll be a Hawkeye.
And why the eye-roll? I think we would get along...

Oh the eye roll was an eye roll of sadness not annoyance. I think we would too. Anyway, just take on the debt and come on!

Ha, gotcha.
I'll tell you, I'm certainly thinking about it. Hey, you went there for UG, right? Is East Campus any nicer looking? West campus just seems full of buildings and stuff, nothing really nice to look at. Any trees or anything on the other side?

I called Iowa about FAFSA stuff. After the central financial aid office reviews your FAFSA and IVF, the College of Law does their own review. Thus, once your file has been reviewed, you wait another 2-3 weeks before hearing from them. They received my IVF 2 weeks ago, and finished the initial review today.

Ya I set mine up last week, it was fairly simple. Also worked well with the Mail program on Macs.

I feel like they gave me loans for a ton of random shit too though. I might ask for less.
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
