Re: Fordham Law School Class of 2012
I'm a little jealous of this Fordham 0L drinking event which is apparently happening actively right now...I can vaguely picture the awkward portion where everyone introduces themselves as their online name...I'd join you but I'm stuck in Philly.
Anyway, thought I'd pop in here, as I'm 2nd-deposited now for the fall. I lived in NYC from 2001 up until last year, when I moved to Philly, and I'm headed back up. My main need at this point is an apartment. Being one of those that ended up priced out of their apartment every year, I am way more familiar with the neighborhoods than I should be...and I have no doubt that, for anyone moving to NY to go to Lincoln Center, Hell's Kitchen is the way to go right now. It got way overbuilt just at the end of the boom, and prices have plummeted...and it's walking distance to campus. A nice true 3-bdrm, 15 minutes walk from school, will easily go under $3k. Definitely not something available a year ago.
--LinkRemoved--
Of course, no one I know needs a roommate for when I plan to move up, which is either Aug. 1 or 15. So, I thought I'd put out there to try to find two future classmates for roommates. I'm 25, male, and my fatal flaw is that I have one cat, but she's small, reticent, and de-clawed. Send me a PM I guess if you're in a similar situation...or feel free to debate below the merits of Hell's Kitchen (aka midtown west aka Clinton...the chunk south of 60th, west of 7th, and north of 40th or so) as the prime Fordham neighborhood.

I think there's a strong pull to Fordham from PA, right? I'd be up for that, I'm in Manayunk until I move north.silenziatori wrote:Word? I'm in Philly too. Anyone else in Philly? We can have a Philly meetup.

Someone at Fordham please meet Albie from the Real Housewives of New Jersey and report back.

Lex, I know someone at Fordham undergrad who knows him. He is there for undergrad and apparently going to Seton Hall for Law School.lex talionis wrote:Someone at Fordham please meet Albie from the Real Housewives of New Jersey and report back.

Yeah its disappointing. However, after watching the first couple episodes (my girlfriend loves it and is from not far away from them) I am comforted that someone from that family didn't get into Fordham Law.lex talionis wrote:Damn, I had higher hopes for him.geoanthem wrote:Lex, I know someone at Fordham undergrad who knows him. I try to be one of those people who looks past the gel and fake tan, but yeah, I'm definitely comforted by that fact as well.geoanthem wrote:I am comforted that someone from that family didn't get into Fordham Law.

Actually, I think Albie might be more 'hot' than 'guido,' (although he might be the only one).

The dean did say that two "well known people from TV/entertainment" were admitted off the waitlist in my batch. I've never watched the show. I would not recognize him. If it is this guy, I hope he won't be dumb enough to attend Seton Hall.

No fake tan, but still guido. I don't think I'd recognize him on the street (or in class).

Apparently they have mafia ties. Dina and Caroline's husbands' father was Albert "tiny" Manzo and was killed in 1983. And who pays for everything in cash? (besides the mob that is)

The Manzo's aren't the ones who pay for everything in cash. That's Teresa.geoanthem wrote:Apparently they have mafia ties. Dina and Caroline's husbands' father was Albert "tiny" Manzo and was killed in 1983. And who pays for everything in cash? (besides the mob that is)

teresa's the sister of the manzos' husbands, though, right? so she's a manzo a birth?lex talionis wrote:The Manzo's aren't the ones who pay for everything in cash. No. Dina and Caroline are sisters (their maiden name is Laurita), and Jacqueline is their sister-in-law (married to Dina and Caroline's brother Chris Laurita). Teresa is just a friend, married to Joe Giudice.dml wrote:teresa's the sister of the manzos' husbands, though, right? so she's a manzo a birth?lex talionis wrote:The Manzo's aren't the ones who pay for everything in cash. No that would be Jacqueline. And the manzo wives aren't Manzos by birth, only marriage, because they both (sisters) married brothers (the Manzos). Jacqueline's husband is the brother of the Manzo-wife sisters. i join you in the self-loathing, but to a slightly lesser degree because clearly i forgot some super-key details.casper00 wrote:No that would be Jacqueline. Has anyone sent their two passport sized pictures to the student affair's office yet? It says to do it by June 1st but I've been really lazy with that.
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
