Even facebook is unbalanced.
CLS: incoming class ~ 370, facebook group: 230
NYU: incoming class ~ 450, facebook group: 165
Do any of you incoming NYU'ers have blawgs? I need more to read!!!

Lol. Love the username, skinnyjeans. I really do hope that NYU isn't as bad, hipster-wise, as everyone seems to make it out to be...

Yah I called to clarify this. In contrast to years past, all GradPlus loans (and all Federal Loans in general; though Stafford, i believe, always went through NYU/Direct Loans) need to go basically right through NYU, and you have no choice in terms of actual lender. Which is annoying in that you may lose a point or two in overall %s with origination fees etc, but may be made up for in convenience.
Did you need to sign an MPN from the HSEC, or is it all through NYU directly?

You only need to sign an MPN through the link they provide in the financial aid email. If you're taking out Grad PLUS loans, you had to go through the MPN signing process for that as well.

Gotcha.
So two MPNs (for most people, anyway) both through NYU.

the UG is
the law school is not hipsterish at all
then again, some people think anything that aren't ridiculously baggy pants are "skinny jeans" so who knows?

I emailed them with the same issue. You can use "IMNYU" to get access to the computer store. Nothing better than education discount on new macbooks but significant price decreases on the previous line of aluminum notebooks.

Has anyone gotten their housing assignment yet? The mailing said they were supposed to go out by today.

I just received an email at my NYU account that reads: "We are pleased to confirm that you have been assigned School of Law housing for the 2009-10 academic year. You will receive the assignment information (building, apartment number, apartment type, phone number, address, and apartmentmate information if applicable) via email shortly."
I'm not sure how to interpret shortly, though.

i just receive NYU Non-Enrolling Student Surveys. It is the longest garbage I ever see. It make me want to print out and draw a big penis in the butt of a an elephant and send it to Kenneth (I-am-not-famous-like-Cole) Kleinrock.

Seriously. I didn't mind answering a few questions, but I think I ranked the same categories at least 3 times.
