Yeah, from California. The flight info I sent them was for around 300$. Did you send them a quote? Also I told them I'm not working ATM and living off savings.

Re: Columbia Law School 2012!
Yes, I sent them a quote of a little over $300, submitted my paperwork within 24 hours of you, AND I explained that I had been laid off and wasn't expecting to get paying work anytime soon. Good thing CLS seems to think unemployment covers trips to New York....ugh.frank_the_tank wrote:Oh man, sorry to hear that! That sucks.whyamidoingthis wrote:You're coming from Cali right? Re: Columbia Law School 2012!
For those of us who didn't get scholarships, is there any chance of negotiating some merit money or not? I assume the only school they would match is NYU (looks like those go out in April), but is it possible to get money if you are in at any of HYS and would consider Columbia only with some money thrown in?whyamidoingthis wrote:Columbia, you loved me enough to admit me, now won't you think I'm cool enough for a few bucks a year? Pretty please?Prodigy wrote:You can still get need based money

Re: Columbia Law School 2012!
I seem to remember cases where people used offers from Chicago to leverage smaller amounts of merit aid from Columbia. I hope it isn't just NYU they're interested in, since I hope to try to bargain with them using other offers--and I don't anticipate having an offer from NYU.Indecision2009 wrote:For those of us who didn't get scholarships, is there any chance of negotiating some merit money or not? Hey,
Does anybody remember how long it took to receive the binder and other material from when they received the acceptance letter?
Thanks!

2 days. Once you've been admitted, they contact you via email or mail pretty regularly.

Really? I was thinking that originally, but the price tag makes me kind of nauseous...frank_the_tank wrote:I'm thinking Lenfest.whyamidoingthis wrote:what sort of housing are you future CLSers going to request???

Sorry if this has been asked before, but does CLS offer any merit schollies aside from those that came with acceptance letters (e.g. Dean's Scholarship or something)?
Also, hoping to see some of you at the 3/25-26 ASP!!!

What lender are most of you thinking of using?
The best I've found is Discover.
Zero fees on Stafford Loans
8.25% (.25% automatic withdrawal brings down to 8.0%) on Grad Plus with no guarantor/default fee
Can anyone beat that?

I really just applied for the hell of it. I think the only way I would have gone would be if I got rejected from all the other T14s. I've never been to Cali, and it really doesn't look that appealing.frank_the_tank wrote:lex talionis wrote:I'm not azn enough for you, frank. But it's looking like a CLS/NYU showdown.
