UVA baseball wins again.
Next game is the regional championship against the winner of SDSU and Irvine and they have to beat us twice.

Here's one thing I will miss about the Northwest, assuming I get the chance to try this stuff soon.

Really? I mean, I love bacon and all, but in vodka? I guess I'd have to try it to really know. You could always just bring a bottle to... uh... educate people.Cavalier wrote:Here's one thing I will miss about the Northwest, assuming I get the chance to try this stuff soon.

All this talk of partying is fun now, but remember that top 25% will probably be necessary to land a market paying job from your OCI. Start gunning now!!!
Just kidding, we don't need more gunners... but believe me, this place isn't nearly as laid back as they'd have you believe. Mood is pretty grim among the '11s especially. Go to a T6, or even better, a T3 if you can. You've been warned.

Obvious flame (1 post, signs off with "UVA 2010"
). GTFO plz. We have plenty of current UVA students here with hundreds or thousands of posts who've never mentioned anything similar, so we have no reason to read your nonsense.

There's nothing you can do about the economy anyway, so just do your best and don't freak out.

Adios.

Sorry guys, I've been lying to all of you. UVa is absolutely no fun and I study 10-12 hours/day. I know I have no job prospects so I'm keeping my post count up as an attempt to angle for a TLS moderator position so I have a job when I graduate.

You only study 10-12 hours a day? Hah, enjoy the soup line.gladiator wrote:Sorry guys, I've been lying to all of you. UVa is absolutely no fun and I study 10-12 hours/day. What is everyone doing for a laptop or school bag? My Jansport backpack I used all through high school and college is a little outdated, and my new laptop is huge so I'll need a big bag. Any suggestions?

Anything but a rolly bag. Rolly bag kids are shunned.JSUVA2012 wrote:Switching topics here...

Well... I was just going to use my Jansport that I used all throughout college (which has held up very well I might add), but now you've made me self-conscious.JSUVA2012 wrote:Switching topics here...

You should feel self-conscious.CE2JD wrote:Well... I was just going to use my Jansport that I used all throughout college (which has held up very well I might add), but now you've made me self-conscious.JSUVA2012 wrote:Switching topics here...

Seriously, though, I also had a bottle of shampoo explode in the Jansport, so there's more than one reason.

Unless things improve significantly, many of you (those who aren't on a large scholly and who don't make the top quarter/third) would be better off taking that free ride at your local TTT.
Don't look at those "DC connections" the school advertises as a fallback option- as the NYC market collapses, HYSCCN kids will be gunning for jobs there.

Why are you here? I mean, do you get your rocks off doing this? Do you look at people on the corner holding "The end is near" signs and think, "you know, that could be fun". And you do realize that this is the "UVA Class of 2012" thread and not the "Maybe I'm deciding between UVA and my local TTT", don't you? [insert insult about reading comprehension here.]kgustao wrote:Unless things improve significantly, many of you (those who aren't on a large scholly and who don't make the top quarter/third) would be better off taking that free ride at your local TTT.

Sorry for feeding the flame (but then again, I'm overly giving importance to page count, and we're down).

How do we know flame is flame? He encourages us to attend higher ranked schools and then later encourages us to attend lower ranked schools with $$$. So apparently MVPB will get fucked by the economy but everyone else is okay? That'd be some ace logic.

The "if you're not going to a T14 school you are going to be homeless/turning tricks to pay the bills/regret your life decision" line just wasn't enough for some people - they had to restrict it to T6 to really get their thrills.

I'm a girl so probably not the answer you are looking for, but I'll give it a shot anyway. Anything other than a rolly bag is cool in my book. I bought a new Longchamp tote because they are really strong and water resistant without looking like I'm about to go hiking or something.JSUVA2012 wrote:Switching topics here...

Re: UVA Class of 2012
wow, i leave the board for like 12 hours and we've acquired a troll.....
but, on backpacks, as of now i'm planning on utilizing a pretty basic north face backpack that i've had for the past four years of undergrad. In light of having to bring a laptop everywhere, I've been considering getting a nice messenger type bag though.

I'm not a fan of the "murse" (man purse for those not in the know). I think almost all messenger bags fall into this category, but I guess there are a very small percentage of guys that can pull them off.napolnic wrote:No one's a fan of the messenger bag?
