Has the school's health insurance plan been discussed here yet? It looks to be more expensive than similar Blue Cross packages and I'd like to know why.

Considering it. I ended up with a pet rabbit by accident, and I never intended to keep it permanently, so I didn't blink when I saw that Ivy Gardens doesn't allow pets of any kind... but I've come to really love the rabbit and so I'm just trying to weigh my options.geoffree wrote:You looking to have a pet rabbit in C-ville?extragnarls wrote:well I had a question pertaining to pet rabbits, but either their avatar changed or i just chose the wrong ~20 pages to scroll through looking for themlimegreen wrote:Vaguely, why?extragnarls wrote:Does anyone remember the poster in this thread with the black and white rabbit being held in their avatar?

I'm interested too, but I think I've already all but ruled out the school's plan.geoffree wrote:Has the school's health insurance plan been discussed here yet? It looks to be more expensive than similar Blue Cross packages and I'd like to know why.

They're having technical problems with the system, in the meantime you can accept the full amount and e-mail the financial aid office with the correct amount.jennyhoo wrote:so i went to accept my loans on SIS, and it wouldn't let me change the $$ amount of the Grad Plus loans. did anyone else have that problem??

I've pretty much ruled it out as well. Just wondering if anyone knows something we don't know about the plan.limegreen wrote:I'm interested too, but I think I've already all but ruled out the school's plan.geoffree wrote:Has the school's health insurance plan been discussed here yet? Re: UVA Class of 2012
I just finished applying for my financial aid and I feel like I am missing something...I did both counseling test things, accepted my loans on SIS, and filled out the applications for both Grad Plus and Stafford on Discover. I also signed both MPNs. Was there anything else I am supposed to do?

Yea, and at 8:30AM to boot. It's getting old.YCrevolution wrote:Sounds like you're set. I've read a few things about this "counseling" deal related to financial aid. What is it, where do you do it?

Is the loan counseling thing something we HAVE to do in order to get our loans? I already applied for loans, but is the counseling thing something that I need to complete before I can get approved?

You have to do it before UVA will verify your loan amounts I think, you don't have to do it in order to get approved by your lender.jdn012 wrote:Is the loan counseling thing something we HAVE to do in order to get our loans? Bit off topic, but in what market is Charlottesville considered as far as sports go? I mean, are Redskins games on every Sunday or is some metro area considered closer/regional?

It's a Redskins secondary market. Meaning that the non-Skins network can show another game up against the Skins, but they will always show the skins game no matter what (and also no blackouts). Comcast Sports Net and MASN give pretty much all of the Nats and Orioles games, as well as Wiz and Caps games. It's basically a Washington, D.C. marketextragnarls wrote:Bit off topic, but in what market is Charlottesville considered as far as sports go? Is there any particular reason why people are going through the loan process so early? is there some deadline I am blissfully unaware of?

I'm too lazy to search the whole thread, but I think I remember someone saying something about June 15th being a preferred date or something...or I could just be confusing that with our second deposit deadline.limegreen wrote:I think there may be a deadline, but I just wanted to get it over with.napolnic wrote:Is there any particular reason why people are going through the loan process so early? is there some deadline I am blissfully unaware of?
Also, does anyone know when we get LawWeb accounts? I was clicking around the UVA website and came across a lot of stuff that was restricted still.
