so the shuttle will pick you up right from CC Briarcliff? or do u have to walk a little to the shuttle stop (not that that makes much of a difference though)?

There is a shuttle that goes from the complex to the school and a MARTA stop at Briarcliff. It is also only about 1.5 miles from the campus, though the road didn't have a sidewalk and I would be worried about becoming roadkill.

Also has a workout facility, pool and clubhouse (though they hadn't been constructed yet when I visited). The apartments are extremely nice. Maybe it is because I have been living in a shithole here at my current school but having a furnished apartment with most utilities covered and my own private bathroom connected to the bedroom for $590 a month rules. I'm pumped to be moving in soon.

Beginning of August. No idea if any vacancies, but fortunately the leases are by the bed so it might be possible. The number is 404-492-8660 so you can give them a call and see if there are any. The website is http://www.campusapts.com/Home.aspx?Proj=143&Name=Emory

word word word to all things bball.. i'll play volleyball too, much rather ball, but i'll play

Has anyone checked out the gym at Emory?
Do they run during the week?
I am genuinely afraid that it is going to be too nerdy of a crowd to get good games.

I finally decided on EMORY! Woohoo...look forward to meeting everyone. I'm in Jerusalem right now and will be heading to the West Bank on Thursday. This place is intense...interesting to see before law school.

The Emory gym is AWESOME. Indoor tennis courts, indoor swimming pool, nice bball courts, etc. You won't be disappointed. See y'all in the fall...

So when is everybody planning on getting to Emory/Atlanta? I'm thinking I will want to move in around the 10th-12th so I have enough time to buy a car, go to IKEA a few times, learn the area and get settled. I will be drinking in honor of the reduced drinking I will probably engage in once school starts. All are invited.

Seems to be the consensus on TLS that it's not worth the time/money.

Anybody thinking about signing up for one of the meal plans? I was a big fan of their dining hall when I visited, but I'm not exactly coming from a rich kid school like this

believe it or not, this is the first time "food" has crossed my mind when thinking about the upcoming school year lol. if emory's meal plan is anything like the plans at my college, they're probably pretty expensive. but so is eating out all the time, and i don't really like (know how) to cook.

Seemed like the undergrad campus was a bit rich kid central, but the law school had a decent mix of us normal folk enjoying massive amounts of debt. Interesting place...real nice though. Can't wait!

I plan to use the "rich kid school" thing to my advantage. While you all are studying for exams, I'll be cruising the campus looking for a nice undergrad girl with an enormous trust fund to romance. The only thing I will study will be pre-nups. This plan is perfect!

I went there for undergrad, and while there are a lot of "rich kids" its one of the most diverse schools in the country and most top schools have a lot of "rich kids" anyway

hopefully i'm wrong about this, but the "property anemities" list for CC Briarcliff doesn't include A/C and heater, though it does mention there being a ceiling fan in each room. um, why? does this mean there's no A/C @ CC?

I'm moving down to Atlanta at the end of the month, so I'm going to have like a month and a half to kill and only minimal plans to kill it with (go to Ikea a lot, ride my bike around my new neighborhood, sleep, read for pleasure, other things that I won't be able to do much after school starts.) But I'd love to get together with anyone else who's coming down early, or who's already there.

booker09, Campus Crossings definitely has A\C, it's a nice modern complex, you typically can't go wrong with new construction. I took a tour during ASD and it was nice, though a little cookie-cutter... same furnishings in every apartment, typical apartment construction and layout. Convenient and easy though, and probably good for getting involved with other grad students and being social.

I will be starting to move July 1st as that's when my lease starts, so I should be in ATL most of July and all of August... Ikea will start to get old, so I think us early residents need to get Bar Reviews started early.

Hey-- are there any big NFL fans on here that would be willing to look into splitting a pair of season tickets for the Atlanta Falcons??

Seriously? What are you waiting for?
