ABCD doesn't really exist to Fall Starters. It's not a myth that Summer Starters are like their own cult and are very isolated. I know VERY few of them, and I know a lot of people.

^ lol
to be fair, summer starters don't really choose to be isolated. it may just seem that way because fall starters have a different bonding experience when they first come to the law school. they're ecstatic about exploring ann arbor together, meeting new people, and going to charleys or the jug everyday for the first three weeks, whereas summer starters have already been through that jazz.

Starting in the summer is more of a frat/ cult bonding experience than anything else.

Being in ABCD now, it does rock. But I will definitely try and meet the fall starters, even if it means I have to hit the bars every night for 3 weeks in a row. That's just a sacrifice I'm willing to make.

So where do people usually fly into to get to campus?
I should probably pick up some tickets soon.

Lakers win it all! Very good to see, as the Lakers are the only team Los Angeles, my home sweet home, can fully get behind! Lakers flags flapping from every car windowUSC2009 wrote:So, um... this doesn't relate to Michigan/Law/A2/etc at all, but...

(oh, and I guess I can support the Red Wings now, sort of?)

On a negative note, I am very sad that the Red Wings lost

Hi,
I have a few questions for fellow Texans at Michigan Law. Please send me a PM.
PS: eticket, I'm also disappointed about the Red Wings. Brad Stuart played awful in game 7.
Edit: But I am happy that my favorite hockey team the Dallas Stars got a new head coach

Me too! Though, not too excited about having reading assignments the same night as our "post-banquet evening outing"summertimechi wrote:just got an email with the MAP schedule. exciting stuff

Brad Stuart definitely could have been better.
As for the Stars, I think I can speak for many of my fellow Los Angeles Kings fans by saying I am glad we don't have Marc Crawford as our coach anymore. But perhaps he can revitalize the Stars. Will Morrow be back for this season?

I was W/Led for MAP but I got the email as well. Looks like I'm going!
Looks like they want us to experience our first panic in the classroom (socratic method, perhaps?) after having skipped the readings. I like it.summertimechi wrote:ha, i thought the same thing!itzjulz wrote:Me too! On a negative note, I am very sad that the Red Wings lost. I am not a huge Red Wings fan, but I really admire their organization and how they compete every year.

I was also thinking about this too. From the looks of it, the only guarantee is that we're going to have Torts first semester. The other two classes are up in the air. So I guess, if you want to do something, read tortssummertimechi wrote:also...i just reread that old thread about what ppl would do differently during 1L if they had the chance...and everybody keeps saying they'd read the e&e's early on...but then they keep saying don't do anything the summer before 1L....
<-- confused
so when's the best time to read them?

I also remember someone suggesting that perusing various topics or "notable" cases on Wikipedia isn't a bad idea, just to get a basic overview. This just might get me through these last 7 weeks of work, since perezhilton and facebook are failing to keep me entertained

I got a copy of LEEWS but I haven't decided if I want to go through the thing yet. The guy's voice is soo..... boring... If Morgan Freeman or someone cool was narrating, I might be more inclined

Or possibly John Corbett, who routinely makes me want nothing more than Applebee's 2 for $20.itzjulz wrote:

Just got the MAP e-mail as well. Is anyone else confused about why they ask whether we will be moving into the lawyers club or need housing for the week? I thought we couldn't move into the LC that early.
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
