does anyone know of good restaurants in the area?

i'm struggling with this one, myself. it's kind of a sea of mediocrity up here. that said:

thai market (107th & amsterdam) is pretty good. and i've heard that wondee siam (amsterdam b/t 107th & 108th, across the street from thai market) isn't bad, either.

community food & juice (b'way b/t 112th & 113th) is also not bad (better food than service). they're closed right now while they recover from a kitchen fire, but i believe they're slated to reopen sometime in the next week or two. you can check out their menu on their website.

if you're looking for delivery, you can try seamlessweb http://www2.seamlessweb.com/AtHome/ or grubhub http://www.grubhub.com/ both will generate lists of restaurants that deliver to your address (some of which offer online ordering) and link to reviews, etc.

also, for those of you who are into this sort of thing: there's a small greenmarket on broadway between 114th & 115th every thursday and sunday. produce, eggs, dairy, fish, jams, potted herbs/plants, etc.

anyone else have restaurant suggestions?

Hey, Lex, I don't know what kind of TV you want, but I have a 20" flat screen Toshiba that I don't use any more. It's in great shape and functions perfectly. You are more than welcome to have it. I also have a Toshiba DVD player with it. It kinda sucks, but you can have it, too if you'd like.

Does anyone know when we actually get the IDs? And is there no way to get a guest or temporary pass to the gym? I might do a few of those free first-time passes at random uptown gyms if I can't get into the CU gym.

we get the ids at orientation on the 17th. I'm sure you can get a guest pass to the gym in the meantime tho. I'd check with student services.

Earlier this week, I ponied up to work out at Dodge; I wasn't terribly impressed with the facilities, tbh. I'm also thinking about other uptown gyms. Plus, Dodge is actually closed from tomorrow through the 17th.
