I have. I was too lazy to go to my doctor (my HMO assigned me one that's far away, because it sucks), so I sent in photocopies of my childhood records, which covered most of the stuff I needed. Ended up getting a tetanus shot since I hadn't since 1996, but I got an email within a day confirming I'd met the requirements, so other than the shot it was a relatively painless process.

I've been working on it. Its been a real pain in the ass for me, actually. I had to request records (which I still haven't received - they are supposed to have them by the 28th) from childhood for immunization, get a tetanus shot that I was apparently due for, and I had to get a Varicella titer (chicken pox immunity blood test) since I got it when I was a kid but didn't get taken to the doctor for it.

Any of y'all going to sign up for the SBA mentoring program?

I did. I figure it's a good way to make upperclassmen contacts for outlines, old exams, etc. Maybe I'll get lucky and my mentor will have had the same teachers.

Plus, I'll be living in Woodbridge. I'll need SOMEONE to drag me out of my suburb every now and again.

I thought that was our job?

But yeah...I went ahead and signed up, too. Some of the answer options made me leery, though. Why can't you go to a bar without dancing on f---ing tables?

Yes, that too. :)

Well, I was a little leery of the fact that you couldn't pick more than one answer. I mean, sometimes I like the crazy bars, sometimes I like coffee, sometimes I prefer martinis. Don't pigeonhole me, man! I did lol a little at the WoW answer.

And yes, I kind of figured that we're grown ups now, and grown ups don't dance on tables or act the ass out in public. Or am I wildly misinformed?

From everything I've heard, LS is high school, Part II. Be prepared :|

I actually wrote "I hate martinis" in the extra information section at the end. One bad one ruined 'em all for me.

I actually don't like martinis. I like pomegranate martinis. Huge difference.

Eh...I've been an Army officer for five years. I'm not opposed to the usual bar shenanigans, but...I'm not trying to reenact Coyote Ugly out at the club. I did the silly sorostitute thing, got it out of my system, and now I like other stuff -- live music, darts, pool, actually remembering what went on the night before...that sort of thing. I really hope I'm not the old crotchety granny of my section.

Ohvell.

Yep. The questions on there were a phrased a little strangely, but I figure the program could only help with adjusting to life in DC and especially with classes.

Just filled out the questionnaire. I agree with all. Where was the "Enjoys a kick ass bar with live music and specials on cold beverages" option? That's what I would've selected.

I've been antsy ever since getting admitted.

I wish we could find out our sections/schedules in advance. I didn't choose the M-Th schedule, so I'm clueless at present.

I too am antsy. I wanna move to DC now! Unfortunately I can't move in until the 17th, so I'm gonna be cutting it CLOSE!

I chose the M-Th schedule, but aside from a quick reply from Dean Richard, haven't heard anything else. Have any other section 15ers heard anything else?

I didn't choose the M-Th schedule either. I'm also eager to figure out which section I'm going to be in. :) I'm going to out myself as an uber-nerd here, but I've been reading professor bios on the GW website, trying to decide who I'd LIKE to have, if it were up to me.

Did we ever decide which bar we were going to meet up at? Or decide on a day?

I think we came to an agreement for the 15th. The location is still an uncertainty, but since you'll be up there for a couple weeks prior to the get together maybe you can pinpoint a fun spot for us. Are you up to the task?

I'll be there next week, so scouting is a definite possibility.

I think the date for the bar was the 15th, wasn't it? Since a bunch of us seem to be flying/moving in the week prior to that. *edit* too slow :?

I'm pretty antsy, mostly because there's about 50 things I need to do at work before I leave and I've only got 3 days to do them. Agreed on the schedule/section too, I would rather know that further in advance.

Question - has anyone looked at the student insurance? I tried signing up, but was having some difficulties (i.e. I needed to buy the regular package as well as the supplement for 8/6-8/22 for grad students, but I could only pick one or the other, not both).

Between me and MrOrange, I'm pretty sure we can get it done. I have a couple of friends in grad school at GW right now, I'll ask them what the fun bars are.

Yeah, I'm willing to defer to yall's judgment and the 15th sounds good.

Can't wait to get there! 10 days...

If you guys want to talk about being antsy, get this one: I sat down the other day and used the class and exam schedule print out (--LinkRemoved--) to figure out all the possibilities as to what class schedule I could have. Has anyone else been insane enough to do this? Can you say "ubernerd?"

The real question is: are you capable of temporarily shedding the nerd-tag to meet up with the rest of us?

Actually, you don't have to shed it. We're all in the same boat to one degree or another.

Oh, absolutely. Think of it as an alter-ego...one that will be shed once I get out of my moving-box filled, suddenly uninteresting apartment and cross the country.
