Assuming I can get enough funding to cover the cost of attendance--and, y'know, food and water--I will be attending UVA this fall.

Do you guys think 4WD is a necessity in Charlottesville? My SO has an S2000 convertible and he's thinking he might want to get a new car before moving up there (he was thinking about getting a new one, anyway). It doesn't seem like the most practical car for the mountains and/or cold.

I drive a supercharged S2000 . . . and I haven't had any troubles at all . . . there hasn't been a single time where I've had to worry about driving the carlimegreen wrote:Do you guys think 4WD is a necessity in Charlottesville? I have a '94 325i that I'm hoping can hold up for three more years. I garaged it and leased an SUV through most of UG because an old convertible was horribly impractical for the climate I was in. Getting it between Charlottesville and Phoenix so many times will be interesting...

Yep! Only ~35 hours, but at least most of it is on the 40.YCrevolution wrote:I-17N from Phoenix to I-40E for a really long time until just east of Knoxville, TN and then I-81N into VA and then I-64E.jsporter wrote:J-Rod wrote:haha . . . it has only snowed here once this year . . . it was barely a flurry, so you can drive whatever you want . . . Re: UVA Class of 2012
for ASW are you all flying into charlottesville or somewhere else? flights into charlottesville aren't cheap.
i'm thinking of flying into dulles, renting a car, and driving down b/c i can use a frequent flier reward into dulles. does this make sense? it's 2 hours.
i'm thinking that even if i fly into charlottesville i'd rent a car, or is that unnecessary for ASW?

Re: UVA Class of 2012
Would anyone want to share car rental for the March 27th ASW? I'm not 100% sure I'm going yet, but I would be flying into Dulles. I'd be happy to share the cost with somebody.
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
Now there's a charge.
