aww, thanks! ya i'm staying at my job for another year. it was too good to let go. i'm going to be really bummed around september when all of you guys are starting, but i don't think i'll regret waiting in the end.

Just pasting my roommate ad from the sadly inactive Admitted Students board on Chicago's site.

I guess I can add myself to the list of people seeking roommates. I'm a female, non-smoker, no pets, looking for the same. Straight out of undergrad. I study hard but definitely still want to go out and have fun.

I'm open to Regents, especially if it's as social as everyone says, or maybe something cheaper. I want to be fairly close to the law school. Jacqueline's apartment, listed here --LinkRemoved-- sounds nice.

I will keep any messes to my own bedroom, and I'm pretty good about keeping noise levels low.

For those of you who are still on waitlists, what is your plan regarding housing? Are you just going to go ahead and assume that you'll be going to Chicago and plan accordingly?

1) I fully expect to attend the Law School this coming fall and can foresee no circumstances that would prevent this from occurring.
Any deposits, letters of intent, or outstanding applications at other law schools will be withdrawn immediately. (Please do not check this option unless you are certain you will attend Chicago this September.)

i THINK (not sure though) that if you checked option 2, they'll contact you sometime soon (not exactly sure when) to switch your commitment to option 1 (at least that's what the e-mail i got said after i picked option 2)

when you eventually switch to option 1, i think you have to withdraw from all waitlists, yeah (again, not sure though)

I think it just means you have to withdraw from all of the other schools where you have seat deposits. I don't intend to withdraw from waitlists.

More likely they're referring to the "outstanding applications" that ED applicants typically have in December. It's likely that they used this same form for those students who applied ED, and made them pick Option 1.

I, for one, will not be withdrawing from waitlists. If they even want it, they'll have to get over it.


Is this what law school is going to be like? Arguing over the meaning of a sentence that could have 5 different meanings? You'd think as lawyers they'd know to write a clearer form.

and yeah, law school and the entire rest of our legal careers will be spent debating the meaning of vague sentences, ie every law ever.

i'm planning on not asking them to clarify, so that in the very least i can say i didn't know. but..just to be paranoid..does anyone know if a misunderstanding about commitments could screw us over when applying for admission to the bar..or if they could simply take away their offer of admission?

Hmm. Maybe the response form was slightly different if you had a scholarship? I remember I filled in an explanation of the waitlists I was on.
