If you haven't lived in any of those places. It's on the second page and it says "Required of all students." If you don't meet the requirements of Part III you just sign and turn it in. They still need that form, even if you are over 26. You CAN'T register w/o it. It's super easy to fill out and then you don't have to worry about late-registration.
I will probably send it in anyway because I'm anal like that, but I asked the Director of Admissions on the phone and she specifically told me that I did not need to send in the form at all. But I always verge on the overly cautious side with stuff like this anyway. Can't hurt.

I told someone today that I was going to Georgetown and, later in the conversation, they asked me when I was moving to Georgia.

I presume you're a Yankees fan, then? It must stink to live with the fact that your team is 0-8 against us this year. All those over-priced, over-rated free agents sure have worked for you so far, haven't they? :D

...Nah, no hard feelings. I hate the Yankees, of course...every Red Sox fan with half a conscience does...but I also respect them and their fans, in large part because they're one of the few truly zealous fanbases (along with the Cubs and Cardinals) left in baseball. The Yanks have a very prestigious history...it's just too bad they don't have much of a future.

I'm just glad the GULC thread's picking up some steam. Now we only have...thousands upon thousands more posts and contributions to go before we catch up with the likes of UVA's 0L chatter...

Maybe I'm crazy, but I decided recently to change curriculums from B to A. I had originally signed up for B, in large part because I thought it'd make my Georgetown Law education "unique" and because I'm always up for good political and philosophical debates. Then I had serious doubts, in part because I heard how notoriously liberal the Curriculum B professors are (I'm conservative on some issues and liberal on others, a born-and-bred Independent, but I went to an undergrad university where borderline-socialist professors attempted to literally drill their biases into their students, and I didn't like that approach.) More importantly, though, I began to question exactly how T250 Vault employers might look at a Georgetown Law alum with a strange curriculum instead of the classic Torts, Civ Pro and Contracts.

Big mistake or great decision? I've debated it thoroughly (even after calling GULC to formally request to change curriculums), but here's hoping I made the right call for me.

Here's an interesting question to pose to you all: what law school (that you were accepted to) was your "second choice," and why did you ultimately choose GULC over this alternative? I'm curious to see what kinds of personalities GULC attracts.

Nothing quite like one of my zany late-night off-topic rants...

I was thinking of Notre Dame. They were giving me tons of money so I was all for it. Then I visited South Bend. Decision made! I also got into GULC a little after visiting South Bend. No question about where I was going.

I didn't have a second choice. I planned to reapply next year (I didn't apply to many schools this year), but for various reasons I decided at the last minute to attend GULC. And so far I'm very happy with that decision.

Thanks all for the info about the immunization form. I have been mildly procrastinating that portion as I did not want to engage the hassle of tracking all the old records down. Since I turn 26 a month from yesterday, my wife and I just celebrated the sudden disappearance of one more bureaucratic hurdle of this summer.

And though (as I'm sure is now obvious) we're not Gee-whizzers, we'd love to join TLS'ers for a bar night. Looking forward to making everyone's acquaintance.

I think I'm supposed to be in charge of organizing the bar night during orentation, but I'm probably not going to do anything on it until August. I'll keep everyone posted.

In other news: I feel like I'm going to be the youngest person in the entire class

Why are you supposed to be putting on a bar night? I don't mean why would anyone want to go to a bar for drinks, just why in particular you were given this task.

Two reasons. The first is that I initially suggested it, and the second is that I'm probably on here the most out of those of us who are going to GULC. It's not like I was assigned to be the organizer or whatever, it just seemed to make the most sense. I'm definitely going to solict help from someone who is a little more familiar with DC to suggest a place when the time comes to start organizing it, though.

I'm 24... don't hit the quarter-century mark til January.

How old are you? Don't worry, I've always been the youngest kid in class... people will just assume that you are super-smart and mature for your age :)

I'm definitely still 21, and will be when school starts as well.

If you need suggestions, I lived in DC for many years and can give you some ideas. Chinatown has some good ones.

Don't worry about being the youngest. There will be plenty of other 21 years olds. I would have been, had I not deferred for 3 years!

I know that has to be true, but it feels like everyone in this thread at least is older. Also, I'll definitely hit you up for bar suggestions in a month or so.

Yes!!! Another 26 year old married dude who happens to be a Tarheel! And people say GULC's size is a disadvantage.

Employment opportunities sold me. I plan to switch to PT as student associate after my first year in FT, although I'm mildly afraid those programs are non-existent now

That and the on campus gym. This might be silly, but I'm stoked to have a basketball court 50 yards from where I'll be studying. Does this irrationally excite anyone else?

I don't hit that same mark until February...

just a heads up: gulc is really putting its foot down on pt --> ft transfers. i think the acceptance rate was like 20-30% this year (down from virtually 100% in prior years).

Darn it, now you're all making me feel old. I'm 25 in less than three months. Twenty-five! That's halfway to fifty. There's a frightening thought.

I'm really looking forward to living in close proximity to the National Gallery of Art. I used to visit it all the time back when I was an undergrad in DC. The nineteenth century romantic landscapes are stunning.

Looking forward to living in a city with an actual sense of culture... unlike Hartford... (bleh)

...I can relate to you, Splitt3r, as I'm working a full-time job (aerospace industry) while simultaneously prepping for law school. (I wouldn't classify myself as the gunner personality type, but I am reading a book or two in advance.) Life is extraordinarily stressful already, and I haven't even begun LS. At least me and a friend are going to unwind with a trip to Vegas a couple weeks before class starts.

Is this an unfortunate after-effect of USNWR's decision to include part-time programs in their rankings?
I have an incredible amount of respect for those who can handle a full-time job and PT law school. I'd lose my mind trying to juggle that much responsibility.

Twenty five is the first birthday that's blah. What kind of comparison is a decrease in auto insurance to nights at the bar? None. And a quarter century? You go from college to almost fifty. Wasn't a fan myself.

Mark, not sure if your comment was a response to mine, but I intend to go the other way. FT to PT. I suspect this will not be problematic.

I wonder what satisfies the new transfer requirements. That's a HUGE change. You would think they would give people a heads up about things like that.
