Crap.....I was trying out different pictures when the system locked - now it says "your photo was approved" and I can't change it.
Now for the rest of law school I'm going to be that douchebag who uploaded a sepia photo as his headshot.

don't worry, you've got nothing on my UG ID photo.imchuckbass58 wrote:Crap.....I was trying out different pictures when the system locked - now it says "your photo was approved" and I can't change it.

Drat. I didn't read closely enough - that page sends you back to the Law School for your card. Given that I've already submitted it through the system intended for non-law students, I guess I'll just have to wait and see what happens.lex talionis wrote:But http://www.columbia.edu/cu/id/docs/Subm ... index.htmlAntipodean wrote:Well, I dug out the recent mail I received from Student Administrative Services, and went to http://www.columbia.edu/cu/id to see if I had my photo already. It did not.
Even if your photo is showing up on AdmitNet and LawNet, that does not mean that the ID Department has it.
Also, the ID Department doesn't accept the same input that AdmitNet/LawNet, so tinkering with the image may be required. Bleh. Time to optimize a .jpg... again...
just directed me to http://www.law.columbia.edu/law_school/ ... ent#151996
which put me back at admitnet.
The whole Columbia/CLS IT mish-mash could use a little work.

I haven't heard from my roomie and can't find her (him?) on facebook or admitnet. Do I courtesy email? I'm just weirded out that she doesn't seem to exist anywhere.

Yeah, same here. I'm thinking of sending an introduction e-mail..

That's a good idea. I can't speak for law school housing, but UAH doesn't let us know when they have assigned a room and to whom. It certainly starts you off on the right foot if you at least give your roommate some warning about when you're moving in.frank_the_tank wrote:whyamidoingthis wrote:I haven't heard from my roomie and can't find her (him?) on facebook or admitnet. I know the following doesn't affect our lives at all but...
CLS produced one or more namesake partners at the following firms:
Cravath
Simpson Thacher
Sullivan & Cromwell
Skadden Arps
Davis Polk
Paul Weiss
Weil Gotshal
White & Case
Shearman & Sterling
Kramer Levin
Fried Frank
Hughes Hubbard
Proskauer Rose
I thought it was kind of cool.

CLS does dominate in Biglaw, no question.
Has anyone else checked out the Orientation schedule? It's a little sparse on details, but I notice that the various campus groups seem to be spreading out activities across the whole time period that Legal Methods is running. This seems good for those of us who plan to join a dozen groups and then complain all semester about how we have no free time.

Hey, I rarely post, but I'm looking forward to meeting all of you next month.
I just got my housing assignment and its a shitty apartment share with some Arts and Sciences grad students. I requested Lenfest as my first choice. Have any of you turned your housing offer, and if so, have you had good luck finding a decent place? Should I just suck it up and live in the shithole? At least its only 900 a month I guess...

I am in a similar situation, and what I don't like about my offer is the fact that I have no information on the apartment - Floorplan, level (possibly sub-basement?), size, window, roommate, etc.Lem37 wrote:What don't you like about your place? I would offer mine, but since you (and the rest of TLS, evidently) already know where it is, I expect you will just climb up the fire escape uninvited.frank_the_tank wrote:Sooo, whose couch can I sleep on my first night there?

From the Lawnet student directory:
"Please provide criteria for student search. You do not have to fill out all fields, and you can use asterisks if you don not remember the exact spelling. For example, by entering *lex* in the First Name field you will search for all people whose first name contains the letters lex, such as Alexander, etc. Or you can just enter the class number to see all students in the class."
Coincidence?
Edit: The typo is a carryover from Lawnet. Love it.

I'll live in the same building, but it would be a slightly longer climb up the fire escape, and lex seems so thrilled to have you. That is a pain about the housing office. I'm staying the night in a hotel in Jersey the night before moving in because of the housing office.
From what I remember, we do need to bring our own microwave for those apartments, right?

Yeah so about the resolution, I'm assuming that just means file size? My picture was good quality, I just shrunk it down to their minimum requirements to be helpful. 360x450 or whatever it was.SleekFire wrote:Mine too...

I haven't actually submitted a photo. I'm choosing one very carefully because I'm still bitter about my UG student ID.

I just snapped one with my webcam, but they didn't buy that....
I think I'm going to try to use a real camera and see if that'll be acceptable...

Hey everyone. Has there been any discussion about roommates for off-campus housing? My UAH assignment was terrible so I declined and now I'm looking for a 2BR near campus. Anyone out there need a roommate?
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
Now there's a charge.
