Yay! Room mate situation got fixed.

I've been looking at Queens more than Brooklyn, but so far, not an abundance of luck. It's partly tough because I'm in Boston now (could be worse, I could be on the west coast) and still working, so going down to see places is complicated. My hope in finding a roommate is a better neighborhood for less money... so, we'll see. I adore my cats and am not to be parted with them, but they do make the housing search trickier.

Anyway, I'm glad for you that you got your sitch straightened out. For my part, I shall persevere.

Yes, coming in from Seattle a few days ago, I say - lucky you! I worked with an amazing broker who was willing to run all over the city, taking candid pictures of places and giving me her honest feedback on various apartments. She'd always return an email or voicemail within minutes, even on weekends and late evenings. I too have two cats which made apartment finding difficult (though not half as bad as getting hotels during my cross country roadtrip.)

Finally secured a place before my move that was twice as big and half as much as I budgeted for. She even waited up until midnight to deliver the keys upon arrival (though I was about 8 hours late thanks to PA traffic delays and runaway cat.) Anyway, if you are still looking, her name is Yana and she is with CitiHabitats. Good luck with your search; I know how stressful it can be.

I picked marriage equality #1 (it's a pet issue, I confess), legal observers #2, and the park #3. It's not that I'm not also into human rights, but I do so enjoy the hands-on-picking-up-trash kind of thing once in a while. The legal observers thing sounds fascinating, though. It'd be nice if they have additional opportunities to do the training.

I hope I get to do marriage equality. I've been meaning to work for it somehow for a year now, but never found the right time. It makes me feel guilty that I haven't done it yet (I'm gay).

I went to the "forgot your password" section, and as my username I put in the same one as on the my.fordham.edu site. The password change option was then e-mailed to me a couple of seconds later.

No courses for first years are up yet, though.

It sucks, since my parents are CA residents. I haven't had health insurance in more than a year.

Since I'm PT, I think I'll need to get the ABA's student insurance, since I won't be eligible for Fordham's insurance. Does that sound correct?

My employer provided insurance will be good through the end of August. I guess I'll start looking for more info on what I can get...

I'm honestly not sure, OS. Although I can see why it wouldn't be available to PT students (they expect you to be working and thus already have insurance--a huge assumption IMO, especially these days). Maybe call the health office? On the flip side, the ABA plan might be better.

You're lucky! I never had insurance through my job, even when I worked full time. I had a lot of flexibility, but no benefits.

If the school will let me, I might go longer without it. I know that's probably a stupid thing to do, but I'm thinking about all that debt...

Is anyone else in this situation? Ideally an affordable plan exists somewhere.
