yea same thing here I emailed and they said to apply online. from the sounds of this thread a lot of people are looking at off campus housing, so hopefully that means most people that want Hughes will get it (especially if we apply before the mailing comes) and don't worry i currently live about an hour away and I haven't gotten anything for housing in the mail yet either

One of my good buddies is enrolling with you all next year. He is probably one of the coolest people I know. Jealous that you all get to have class with him!

thanks so much for your help. i hope so too. nevertheless, i've begun my quest for off-campus housing in the unfortunate event that i don't get into hughes. the stuff that's left at this point looks to be nice but expensive (which is probably why it's still available) or, well, shitty.

I've heard of law students who also decide to live at some of the other graduate housing if you do not want to start the off campus search.

I've been looking at Hasbrouck Apartments (one of Cornell's Grad housing options) and they seem to be reasonably priced and close enough to the Law School. Anyone has any info on these apartments? Are they shitty? inconvenient? etc etc..

Thanks in advance...

wow, big ups to SaraBara and VTHA on the online housing thing, that's a huge relief. i've been waiting for this housing form to come in the mail forever. i really want to live in hughes and i'm hoping this will give us all a leg up when it comes to getting in.

edit: hey, butternose i saw your thread in the other forum about the gloomy hughes prospects, what exactly did the person on the phone say to you? i was feelin all rad after submitting it online but my radness may be short-lived

are any of you guys who are applying going straight from undergrad to law school? i feel like hughes is probably the best way to ease that transition, at least for me (even though I haven't dormed in three years).

If we are keeping track, this is a male room (hopefully) taken.

P.S. oh and i guess you guys can add me to the list of TLSers going to cornell if such a thing exists

P.P.S. damn now i'm all conflicted as to whether i should tell the dude i made friends with at ASD about this

I'm going to straight from undergrad, and I think you should tell him you know to build up some good will. Maybe one day he'll know something and share it with you.

yeah, my conscience won out and i sent him a facebook message about it. it might not do either of us any good but maybe that little bit of karma will help.

i just joined the facebook page too. its pretty weird to me going from a school with 17,000 students to one where the 64 people who already joined the FB group make up over a fourth of the graduating class

I agree with you there. I usually go from having only a couple people i know in a class and not seeing them again for a couple semesters and now I am going to be seeing the same people for three years. But I have to admit I am excited.

Not until August. If you have the time I'd recommend getting up to Ithaca a little early. There's no place like Ithaca in the summer!

I'm thinking mid august for me. Can anyone tell me what the weather is like up there around that time?

Refer to picture. That would be Cayuga lake in August.
