I didn't even know there was a live chat feature on their site until I read this. I got the same answer as you guys, and I'm expecting a waitlist or an outright rejection. Getting accepted would sure be nice, though.ajrm116 wrote:I got the same answer. Went complete 11/10. Good luck! I have no idea what to think, but it's time to start praying (and no, I'm not religious). If [somehow, via miracle] accepted, I will attend without question.

Mine was complete on 11/11, so I'm hoping to hear soon, too. My LSAT is at the median and my GPA is above 75%, but I'm still not so sure about my chances. Historically, 160 LSATs haven't had too good of luck with Madison.

Oh no, I added WI to my list late and didn't go complete until 12/11 so hopefully I won't have to wait another month or more!
I applied last year and was wl/rejected...I have since raised my lsat by 7 pts to 162 and gpa is slightly below median...any thoughts on whether being waitlisted last year will help or hurt me?

I cant imagine being waitlisted last year could hurt you. If you improved your LSAT and applied a second time showing you are still interested in Madison then things should bode well for you no?

I agree. This would show them how much you really want to attend, especially if you mentioned this in your personal statement somewhere. If not, I still think it wouldn't hurt.wiscohopeful wrote:ferg0146 wrote:Oh no, I added WI to my list late and didn't go complete until 12/11 so hopefully I won't have to wait another month or more!

Re: Wisconsin-Madison 2012!!!
Just an update...I went on the live chat thing on their website after people here mentioned it, and asked when they were sending out merit packages to admitted students (don't know if that was forward of me, but I figured it was anonymous, so whatever). They said it would be in "the next few weeks." I take it as a positive thing, because to me, that means probably sometime in February rather than March. Although adcomms are likely to be more generous with the "few"
.

Re: Wisconsin-Madison 2012!!!
Just spoke with the admissions office. I was complete early to mid November and my decision was mailed out yesterday.
I hope this is good news since WI seemed to be admitting international students via email yesterday.
Good luck to all.

Re: Wisconsin-Madison 2012!!!
I feel dumb that I never noticed that 'Chat with Admissions!' link on the UW Law site until it was mentioned here. What does that say about my future as a law student/lawyer? I found out that my app is in review and once a decision is made I will hear in 2-3 weeks. What is up with that turn around time, I live 4 blocks from the law school!! Said I would gladly walk and pick up my decision letter in person on my way to class. Apparently that is not acceptable
Come on guys I went complete in early November it shouldn't be that hard. Illinois somehow accepted me and I really don't want to go there

A decision has been made on my file...should take a week or two before I receive anything in the mail. This is killing me. very. very. slowly.

How did you guys know a decision had been made on your file? Did you call or use the live chat thing?

Re: Wisconsin-Madison 2012!!!
My work computer wouldn't let me use the live chat so I called...the lady was nice and it was very fast and harmless.
Unfortunately though, I went complete 12/11 and she said it would probably be 2 weeks until a decision and 2 weeks after that before I find out...

Re: Wisconsin-Madison 2012!!!
I'm curious as to what most people are interpreting this as. For me, I'm below 25%ile for UGPA and at 25%ile for LSAT. But I can also tick off every soft factor they list on their admissions page.
So since we're a mixed bag of applicants who are receiving notice, do you think this is a wave of acceptances and waitlists? Maybe a completely mixed bag of accept/deny/waitlist?
It seems that virtually no one who is rejected hears from WI before February. I only saw two cases from last year's LSN cycle (of applicants who were complete and notified in the first round of decisions).
Here's to hoping.

Re: Wisconsin-Madison 2012!!!
I've heard that Madison likes Wisconsin residents a lot. It might go so far as to lower the median scores for those students by a point or two. That would effectively raise the scores for those of us not from WI. Anyone know anything about this? At 164/3.5, I should be competitive but this has me wondering.

Just contacted them via live chat as well; they told me the same thing: decision sent out today, and that I should receive the letter in the next few days...terrifying!

I too will be receiving a decision soon! This makes me nervous, since I went complete on 01/02. This seems like a short wait ...
