Woah...where did that come from. Yeah. I was talking about my section. I never even thought that it would be construed that other way. But I guess if you're not from here, it could totally read that way.
PS: I have faith in the upcoming resurgence of our football team.

Your recruiting class this year isn't looking too good.

Re: Michigan 2012
So I'm away from my permanent address at the moment, but my girlfriend got the package at my apartment. Accordingly, I know I'm in (
) but I don't know much else.
Is there information on merit scholarships in there? If I got one, would it be in that envelope? Or is it yet to come? (Or of course, never come at all, but call me an optimist)

i didn't get one. i'm going to apply for aid, but out of the five schools i've been accepted to, not one offered me any money. i don't think my transcript's really doing it for them.

I know it was a football reference. That's why I asked if it was a joke because we have a pretty strong class coming in that's supposed to get stronger with the a few more commitments .

It's also comparable to the best teams in the nation, ranking #7 on Rivals (think USNWR for football recruiting for those who don't know).Pathfinder wrote:its comparable to the other top teams in the big 10.zettsscores40 wrote:I know it was a football reference. That's ahead of Georgia, Florida State, Notre Dame, Miami, Oklahoma, Florida, Penn State, Auburn....

the other schools don't matter if someone in your conference is better (or plays in the conference championship in your place if you're texas); you can kiss championship goodbye

Of course. You can also kiss championship goodbye if you can't beat your bowl opponent once you get there.Pathfinder wrote:the other schools don't matter if someone in your conference is better (or plays in the conference championship in your place if you're texas); you can kiss championship goodbyeTrojanBadger wrote:It's also comparable to the best teams in the nation, ranking #7 on Rivals (think USNWR for football recruiting for those who don't know).Pathfinder wrote:its comparable to the other top teams in the big 10.zettsscores40 wrote:I know it was a football reference. My point was that a few years ago, the Big Ten didn't get a single team in the top 10 of recruiting classes.
This year, Michigan is in the mix with the elite powerhouses again, and these recruiting rankings were not brought down on tablets--they're inexact, and Michigan ought to be nationally competitive when this class is in its prime.

Got my letter saying they received my deposit today! So where is everyone at in looking for apartments and such? I'm ready to move now, if only i didnt have to wait for that pesky thing called financial aid. Its a pain finding apartments for a may lease, only a few places offer them. I don't wanna sublet and then have to move again come 3 months down the line. May to may ftw.

Congrats everyone. If you have any Qs, you know whom to ask (until January 14th, that is).

Thanks for the offer. I'll take you up on that with a question for you or anyone else in the know:EmmyD wrote:Congrats everyone. If you have any Qs, you know whom to ask (until January 14th, that is).
I've only been able to find a few articles on the expansion of the law school, and I can't find the expected/intended/praying-for completion date anywhere. Also, what's the buzz about the project?

The number floating around is 2011, it seems.
There isn't a lot of buzz in the law school itself because no one here is really going to be around to enjoy the facility. In terms of construction noise, I don't think it'll be bad at all. It's usually too cold to keep the windows open, anyway; and when they open the windows, the ambient noise from cars just driving down the street covers it up.

Since it'll be across the street, I expect the new building won't cause a whole lot of problems. But it was pretty sweet the other day when some jackass started in with a hammer drill on the stone wall outside our classroom -- right in the middle of the Ks exam. Good times.EmmyD wrote:There isn't a lot of buzz in the law school itself because no one here is really going to be around to enjoy the facility.
