Re: Illinois 2012
I have a biased opinion.
Though I've not yet attended LS @ Illinois, I know that among other things, proximity is an important apartment feature to me, and I would prefer to live closer to the law school than many of the apartments that are often suggested.
Students looking for quiet, fully furnished, campus or walking distance from campus options might want to check out apartments in the engineering campus area, the area east of lincoln within about a 10 block of the Urbana library, and the area near Westside Park and CVS in Champaign near Green and Neil within about 10 blocks (a little before Hessel Park) All of these areas are conveniently serviced by bus routes. The apartment I lived in my last year of UG was near Lincoln and Green and it was a small building of only 6 units, comprised solely of graduate students, so I was the loudest one. It was located near two bus lines including the 22, which serves pretty much every area on campus. Further east on green street, the neighborhood gets even quieter.
HTH.

Anyone planning on getting season tickets for football? I'm definitely signing up, but wondered if the law school students sat in a certain section.

My lease starts the 15th, so I'll probably be completely moved in by 10am on that day. I'm more than a little anxious to get down there. From what I've heard law students do have an unofficial section for football games and a pretty good tailgate. Anyone living at the Village?

I'm at the Pointe as well. That place looks amazing. If we can get some more law students, we might be able to get a bigger discount, so spread the word. Do you have roommates yet?Hook 'Em wrote:+1. Yeah, I'm living with 2 other law students. I hope they let us move in a few days early so we can get everything settled before orientation.bloomlaw wrote:I'm at the Pointe as well. I am moving down the 16th of August so if anyone wants to go out to the bars that night let me know as we get closer to the date...
Also if you want to move in early call your realty company ASAP so you can ask them, some are cool about it others not so much. The more notice they have the more likely they will be to let you move in a day or two early.

I think it'd be fun to organize a Bar Crawl in Urbana-Champaign for the 1Ls. Any takers?

Ha, I didn't even think about T-Shirts. Regardless, I think it'd be a fun start to a great class.fightin illini 25 wrote:I think it's a terrific idea. I would love a Bar Crawl!! Like I said, I will be moving in on the 7th so I would love to meet up with some students before school starts for a drink or whatever.
And where is The Point?? I am going down this weekend to find an apartment; maybe I will go over and look at a place.
Ps: 2 months until school starts, sort of scary

Anybody get the email today about the laptops? They both look like pretty good deals.

Hey Illiniosers. I have a question for you all.
I am trying to find old exams from a professor who used to teach at UIUC and is now a visiting prof at my school. Doria Roithmayr. I don't know if you all have access to old exams yet, but if you do I would really appreciate it if you could help me get my hands on some old Roithmayr CivPro exams.
Thanks in advance.

This might not be the right place to ask.
We won't even have orientation for a month.
