If you're a weight room man, I hope you're not particularly snobbish when it comes to free weights.

I am not. I just want to get the job done. If its an older gym, I'm assuming they still use metal plates as opposed to the newer rubber ones. I actually like the "old school" grimy feel. I like hearing the "ka-ching" sound of the metal weights. =)

I am cleaning up my apartment and getting ready to move to Berkeley.

Do I have to keep all the law school application files for the bar moral test?
Just the one I sent to Berkeley Law?
Only the application forms? How about PS, LORs?

I am deleting files on my macbook and making some room for my coming class notes and essays.
And I don't know if I should throw away those LOR copies my professors sent me.

One option you can do is to just get an external hard drive and put your files there if you have no room on your computer. I would probably scan the LORs and save them electronically.

Now if you were referring to lockers at Boalt, I just assumed we get them because every other law school does the same. I guess you never know from a school that doesn't require immunizations, though...

Wasn't there a big bank of lockers outside the auditorium?? Didn't Dean Tom make a joke about first day being like HS? (words to the effect of "We will hand you a class assignment and a combo to your locker..."). Or am I really old enough to be going senile?

San Fran is probably the least stressful of the big cities-- unless of course you drive a manual transmission and you've grown up in Kansas.

I'm sick of NYC so I can't wait for SF and the Bay Area in general. I hear winters in SF are rainy but that's way better than snow!

I often joke about how I applied for schools while enduring a snowy midwest winter and there was no way I was going anywhere with crappy weather. Every time I had to scrape ice off my car and then drive to work in six inches of snow, my mantra was "never again after this winter".

I love being outdoors, and frequently checked the average weather graphs on weather.com to figure out what it was like for different cities.

I was born in LA and lived a long time right outside of DC. Yet, for some reason, nothing gets to me like San Fran. Maybe its just the driving. I actually had a nightmare about driving straight up into the sky the night before my fiancee and I were scheduled to drive down to look at apartments.

It was Saturday yet the traffic was terrible and the first apartment we looked at I had to drive up a VERY steep hill to get to.

I can understand that. Driving/parking in SF is a bit of a nightmare. The first time I drove into the city I got a flat tire on the bay bridge and I thought I would get run over by an SUV and die. That city is not designed well for cars.

I'm way beyond the "leave before it makes you hard" point. I've experienced one too many fights breaking out on crowded rush hour subways to have ANY patience left lately for anything.

I think I remember this being something that law students from unaccredited schools have to take after their first year in order to take the bar exam. Not 100% certain, but I vaguely remember this from one of those Cooley/People's College trolling sessions...

No, we will be exempt - we have more than 2 years of college and will have finished 1st year (and will be rising 2L's) at an ABA accredited law school. Scroll down to page 16 of the following:

that is so tempting!! despite the ubiquity of coffee shops at berkeley, i plan on investing in a french press. i already have a small coffee bean grinder. the french press will allow me to make fresh coffee fairly quickly every day. i should probably invest in some teeth whitening strips as well.
