Whatever! Just another thing I need to track now. I just called and they said that you only have to send them your graduating university's transcript. Lucky for me, St. John's doesn't charge for transcripts!
I had one sent to Fordham and one to me, so if Fordham doesn't receive their copy soon, I'll just give them my copy. I can't believe I missed this step.

one more thing, sorry to those of you who have done this already. On the fordham preferred borrowers list, it seems like citibank is a great deal for grad plus. .75% off and last six months forgiven. However, I can't find any mention of this on citibank's site besides .25% off for repayment. what's the deal?

Mini rant: The FIT registrar's office closes at 4:00 PM! This was definitely not the case when I attended, even in the summer. That said, I just talked to my mom, and she says she doesn't have all my immunization records. FIT might still have copies on file. We don't need "official" immunization records, do we?
I really hope that faxing works.

not sure if i'm the only one who didnt know it was there, but there is a great barnes and noble on 18th and 5th..they specialize in textbooks/reference books and have a great law section...after my ordeal with Lexis i decided to go there and buy my "Intro" book there...the used ones they had were in pristine condition and only $33 for anyone interested...they also have all of the other books people have talked about used (Getting to Maybe, Law School Confidential, etc.)
i also perused Case of a Lifetime...looks interesting and a very easy read...i'm sureyou can get through it in a single day

Goddamnit I wish I were in NYC right now to get a used copy. I guess I'll go to the Penn Bookstore to see if they have this book...jrock12 wrote:not sure if i'm the only one who didnt know it was there, but there is a great barnes and noble on 18th and 5th..they specialize in textbooks/reference books and have a great law section...after my ordeal with Lexis i decided to go there and buy my "Intro" book there...the used ones they had were in pristine condition and only $33 for anyone interested...they also have all of the other books people have talked about used (Getting to Maybe, Law School Confidential, etc.)

I love that B&N. So many levels of fun. I've also heard that its B&N's flagship store.jrock12 wrote:not sure if i'm the only one who didnt know it was there, but there is a great barnes and noble on 18th and 5th..they specialize in textbooks/reference books and have a great law section...after my ordeal with Lexis i decided to go there and buy my "Intro" book there...the used ones they had were in pristine condition and only $33 for anyone interested...they also have all of the other books people have talked about used (Getting to Maybe, Law School Confidential, etc.)

Anyway, glad you got that Lexis situation worked out! They're a rip-off. I'll keep B&N in mind for law books. Interesting that they have it for sale in their stores, but not online.

How the hell do you know what books to purchase already? Our required reading (3rd edition) doesn't seem to be available yet. I thought Fordham was supposed to send us another book by this point. I'm packing up for my cross-country roadtrip and was hoping to have some reading material... 5 days is a lot of time to kill

The 3rd edition is available--Fordham just provided us with the wrong title. I believe Pammy was the one who sorted this out with Fordham (thanks Pammy!). It's actually called Introduction to the Study of Law Cases and Materials (ISBN:9781422428733). Read through a few pages back--someone found a copy for under $30 I believe. The reading assignments for this book haven't been posted yet though.OracleFromOregon wrote:How the hell do you know what books to purchase already? So far no one on the board has gotten Case of Lifetime yet, but since July is half way over Fordham should be sending it out soon. It's free, so I'll be patient and wait

And ROAD TRIP! Are you taking the northern route or southern route?

Hello all,
I've been lurking a while and decided it's about time I stand up....
Surreal as it seems to me (this move has been many, many years in the making), I will be amongst you next month! I was admitted last month PT (after emotionally giving up on a WL spot months ago!); am now waiting and waiting for financial aid to guide me... I have SO MANY questions, but lots have been answered right here by a few of you, so THANKS to all for the candor!
Really looking forward to getting to know folks...

Hi Guys- I have a financial aid question here: On the last page of the application (stafford loan request) they ask for your anticipated number of credits for the fall and spring semesters. If I'm in the PT program how many credits should I put down for each semester?

OracleFromOregon:
The East Village is definitely younger, with more affordable (and great) places to eat, lots of boutiques and great little shops. Also, a very active bar culture which is a plus and a minus. Tends to get kind of noisy. I've lived in the vicinity for the last 7 years.
Upper West Side around the 60's is older, more professional with lots of families. Also, more expensive. A friend of mine grew up around there.
Enjoy your roadtrip!
