I'm guessing Dean Tom's appeal to integrity fell on deaf ears. It's folks like this that put Boalt's no deposit plan at risk. [/rant]TheNerdProject wrote:Hey Everybody,
I have a buddy who got an $80k matching scholly to Boalt and who firmly committed last week. However, my friend is STILL on two other waitlists (HYS and YLS), even though the terms of his firm committment were to remove himself from all other waitlists.
Can he get in trouble? More specifically, can he lose his scholly?
In case he can get in trouble, as a friend, I feel like I should say something. Thoughts?
TIA!

That said, I think it's a low risk gamble. How will they find out? I think the bigger risk is with his/her WLs if they report to schools about the commit. Barring some other disclosure, UCB would only find out after receiving an offer elsewhere.
Which is why I think they should have a bounty system. Anyone reporting such shenanigans would get 50% of the scholarship amount, regardless of need. What did you say his/her name was again?
