On another note, I find it rather amusing that those who have committed to yale and stanford and the yale and stanford wannabees are still posting on this thread.

No need to single me out because you're an elitist, self-absorbed prick. Tell us again how you've been admitted to all 3 of HYS and how you've agonized over the choice. We haven't heard enough about it. Perhaps you can set it off in parenthesis such as..."Yeah, I really like kittens (hopefully I can bring my kitty to H, Y, or S since I got into all 3)," since you have a penchant for doing that.KP429 wrote:Have you read any of Objection's recent posts?HAZMAT wrote:I'm not sure what you're trying to say here. No offense.
All I said is that with YLS increasing their class size, there could be a shakeup at the top next year (since class size is by and large the reason YLS has been insurmountable).

Less talk about Yale and Stanford. More about this weekend's ASW. Good times, right?

Who taught your mock class and which lecture did you go to?mallard wrote:Less talk about Yale and Stanford. More about this weekend's ASW. Good times, right?

The lecture was "The Future of the Internet" by Professor Zittrain, and it was really interesting and fun. Professor Lessig showed up in the back of the room at the end, which was a little unreal. The mock class was on Terry v. Ohio and Professor Sullivan taught that. And yes, the "party" was at Tommy O'Doyle's.

Haha. Maybe KP is still agonizing about his choice -- perhaps having 2nd thoughts and that's why he can't stay away from the hls thread

Ha. I think we found Tommy Doyle's sketchy because at the same time, some local singles were having a singles party there (coincidentally). These trashily dressed ladies were handing out fliers for it outside the restaurant we went to eat.
Have you thought about where you want to live?

Zittrain is awesome and VERY involved. I go to a lot of Berkman center events and he moderates at least half of them.mallard wrote:The lecture was "The Future of the Internet" by Professor Zittrain, and it was really interesting and fun. Regarding your topic, there's a "debate" between Zittrain and Lessig on Stanford's iTunes U site on the Future of the Internet. I put debate in quotes because they don't really disagree.
Tommy Doyle's sucks. I can't believe they took you there. When you're at HLS, you need to hang out at Chez Henri and the Lizard Lounge. They are two of the best spots in the Boston area.

Re: Harvard Class of 2012
Wow, Obj, that was pretty harsh......
I do like the "No offense" at the end--reminded me of The Ballad of Ricky Bobby when Ricky Bobby is really rude to someone but just says "With all due respect" as a preface to it, insisting that you can say whatever you want as long as you say "With all due respect," at the beginning of it, haha.
Glad to hear you guys had a good time at the ASW. It would be so crazy to have Lessig just lurk in to the back of a class taught by Zittrain.
Ha, the Lizard Lounge???

Obj, I'm pretty sure I'm going to live in a dorm my first year.
I also think some of your antipathy towards KP might be fomented by his avatar. The same thing happened to me and it took me a little while to realize why. It's quite a smirk he's got there - plus I'm a Federer fan.

Nah, it stems from his/her constant dismissive and condescending remarks.Objection wrote:Who taught your mock class and which lecture did you go to?mallard wrote:Less talk about Yale and Stanford. More about this weekend's ASW. Good times, right?
The avatar surely doesn't help, though.

Well. Anyway. Did Harkness seem a little expensive to you? I'm happy to have a convenient dining commons again, but I'm worried if I go there a lot I'll undereat due to the prices.

I don't even remember prices so I can't comment. You were more observant than Imallard wrote:Well. Anyway. Did Harkness seem a little expensive to you? I'm happy to have a convenient dining commons again, but I'm worried if I go there a lot I'll undereat due to the prices.

If you want pizza, you can probably eat free every day of law school.

Law school events always serve pizza. I heard the "you can probably eat free...if you want pizza" at both HLS' and Michigan's ASWs.joshikousei wrote:where where?Objection wrote:If you want pizza, you can probably eat free every day of law school.

I was just about to send in my seat deposit when I saw that they asked for two passport sized pics. Can I send in the deposit now and the pics at a later date?

The lizard lounge is a venue on Mass ave about a block north of HLS (in the basement of the Cambridge Commons). They have good music and food and a great atmosphere. It's very casual; there's no real stage and most of the music is local.heyguys wrote:Ha, the Lizard Lounge???

If you upload a suitable pic to sidebar you don"t need to send in passport pics.smushon wrote:I was just about to send in my seat deposit when I saw that they asked for two passport sized pics. Can I send in the deposit now and the pics at a later date?
I'm glad, since I don't have much in the way of pictures outside of the intertubes.
