woah......
Hey, so, I got the official email. I'm in that class.
It is weird that I'm on the waitlist for the prof pick seminar where he sent me an email in response to my statement saying, "Looking forward to working with you in the fall." But whatever... I wasn't THAT into it anyway. (Plus, I'm #1 on the waitlist, so the opportunity will probably arise to take it.) I might just take Accounting for Lawyers pass/fail.
I'm officially in ADR. I applied for the federal investigations and prosecutions seminar but I guess people applied like crazy. It's a new seminar. Suffice to say I didn't get it since I wasn't about to burn both priorities in one semester.
Me three. I'm stoked. That class is stacked with a) TLSers and b) cool people.
I'll sell one of you my book. It's 100% unmarked.

I'm thinking of doing the MAP program, and I was looking into maybe getting a place at Woodbury (per the recommendation of awesomepossum) but I'd probably opt to have a roommate, since then housing will be a really minor expense overall. So, if anyone is interested, either let me know or PM me, and we can figure out if splitting a place would work out. Note: I'd probably opt for the places that had 1 1/2 bathrooms and a washer/dryer, if they're available.
Also, it doesn't HAVE to be Woodbury, it just happened to be one of the closest/nicest options I've found so far.
Let me know!
Also, how did you all send the payment? Do they include who to make a check out to on the forms or whatever?
How is availability at the Woodbury? It looks awesome, but I can't check it out in person until sometime in May...

hey everyone! there's a good chance i'll be joining you next year (yay!). i'm probably not going to do the lawyer's club, so i was also checking out woodbury and it looks pretty nice/decently priced. is there ample parking at woodbury? i'd be open to suggestions for other places near campus as well, though.
anyway, just wanted to say hello!

I haven't gone there in person, just checked it out online. Not sure about availability.

Anyway, possum, I'm beating you at your own game. Scarletmuse and I are about to go walk our dogs together.

Before your tutoring session.

Hahahaha!
I'm seriously not being hyper-competitive. We were already thinking about getting together for doggie exercise time today.

I just called and spoke to a rep at Woodbury to get some more information. I'm interested in the 3br townhome, since it seems like the best deal, so if there are any other female students interested (without pets, please), send me a pm

I had a 3br townhome there when I first moved to Ann Arbor, and it was super nice. The only beef is that I had some crappy neighbors who were hella loud. The apartment complex wasn't willing to talk to the neighbors (which I had) and suggested that I call the cops. The last thing I want to do is call the cops on loud neighbors.
They had a 30-day break lease option and my wife and I found a bad-ass house instead. If the neighbors were quiet, that place would have been super duper.

Well if that happens, i'll just make use of all of you fine TLSers that will be in that ADR class to mediate the hell outta a situation like that.
I've been hearing generally nothing but good things about the place so far - though I can see how noise would be an issue, especially if you get stuck next to a group of annoying undergrads or something. It's nice that they have the break lease option, though, in case something is seriously wrong with the place.

Yeah, I really dug it, and if we didn't find this pretty sweet house, I think I would have been okay staying and telling the dudes next door to seriously chill out. They were just some undergrads that were having a good time, and I get that, I''m just a cranky old dude.

I already put in my app for Woodbury for a 1 bed/1 bath w/ washer and dryer. The people that work there are super helpful and they gave me all the info I needed. I also obviously heard great things about the place.
Maybe next year I will get a roommate but i'm kind of afraid of rooming with people I dont know.

Does Michigan have a Law Revue (student comedy show) like UVA?

No, but we have some other really fun events. I would say the closest thing to "Law Revue" is Mr. Wolverine (which is a "pageant" but more about being funny than hot). Miss America 2008 was in it this year. For real. One of the guys sent her an email asking her to be his escort, and she said yes.
The other biggest event is the SFF Auction. There are faculty auctioneers and huge attendance and particpation. Some really awesome things are auctioned off.
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
Now there's a charge.
Just kidding ... it's still FREE!
