Found my hidden Columbia fee waiver a few days ago but just got the email for it. It feels a lot more legitimate this way, like they're actually proud of giving it to me rather than sneaking it to me at the back door in a brown paper bag.

also, i've had a related question regarding courtesy: should we respond to these auto emails thanking the sending school? i've done so for all of the waivers that i asked for, of course, but for none so far that were mailed voluntarily, since the first time i tried i got an auto-"account not monitored" response.

no

They send a lot of these things out. I'm sure they don't want hundreds of thank you notes coming in.

Eastern boys and western schools .... west. ern. schools..

If it's like last year, you guys should be receiving in the mail a viewbook and piece of paper telling you got a fee waiver as well.

Columbia sent me the fee waiver 3 times in the last 30 minutes. I think that means they like-like me

Did anyone else's say that they identified you as a candidate based on your LSAT only? Is that a polite way of saying my GPA sucks....? Lol. Thanks Columbia.

My letter did, and my GPA isn't terrible. (Not great, but not terrible).

It's just so you don't get your hopes up.

Or they sent him three slightly different emails: one says LSAT only, one says GPA only, and one says GPA and LSAT?

I wonder what they're up to with their lists.

Your welcome. I am going to apply and add an addendum that says "I got three fee waivers. I would like my 150 dollar app. refund by check please"

Still thinking about it. I probably won't get money, and would really like to be there. I'm not going to be able to visit (though I'd like to) before the early decision deadline. There are many things to consider.

Columbia via email (though found it hidden the other day) and Penn hidden waiver as of this afternoon. It wasn't there yesterday, so must have just been updated today, if anyone's looking to check for themselves.

w00t. 17 applications, but only paying for 4 of them.

Seriously? What are you waiting for?

Now there's a charge.
Just kidding ... it's still FREE!
