UC Davis or Hastings?
Both pretty comparable schools right now, but it seems like Davis is on the rise and Hastings falling every year? Pretty safe assumption?

I'm pretty sure that Hastings beats Davis in biglaw placement, and will continue to do so. For example, MoFo has 29 associates from Hastings and only 13 from Davis.

did you not see the other 20 threads on this subject, including the pretty big one from a few days ago when the us news rankings leaked?

I was accepted to both. Chose Davis. Because they are so similarly ranked, I think it comes down to whether or not you prefer a city of a town for your law school experience. Also, I was fervently warned against Hastings by several people in the SF legal community. Its size, competitiveness, and uber-urban location make it less-than-ideal for some people. Like me.
I know that Hastings is close to the 9th circuit and other courts, but keep in mind that Boalt and Standford people are also vying for such clerkships. At Davis, you're only competing against McGeorge people in the Sac area. Also, I've lived in an urban environment as a poor student. It sucks. I'd prefer to live in one of the most expensive cities in the country when I have a full-time job.
As extraneous as it sounds, I ultimately chose Davis because I felt that it seemed like a better fit socially. It's smaller and the students seemed a bit more down to earth.
