LSAT Writing Sample and Admissions : Retake the sample? Forum

Hi everyone, quick question about the LSAT writing sample and the law school admissions process.

I have a 4.05 LSAC GPA and a 178 LSAT score (one attempt total). As it turns out, my writing sample ended up with about four typos in it out of 650 words .

Should I go ahead and retake the writing while also being prudent to avoid such careless mistakes? I know it's dumb that I screwed up the easiest part of the law school app, but c'est la vie. Thanks in advance for any tips about this matter

On the off-chance this is serious: No. The LSAT Writing Section has no impact on admissions. Most schools don't even read it.

Hey, I appreciate you giving me the benefit of the doubt! I understand how ridiculous my question may have sounded given that writing samples aren't scored nor factored in the rankings.

I've read a couple posts about YLS possibly taking typos seriously, so that's what concerned me. Would it actively be /harmful/ to retake the sample?

I guess I'm just concerned a Yale professor contributing to Adcom will take away marks from my app due to typos. Just asking for peace of mind. Thank you

OP, you should write an addendum explaining how the typos came to pass and that it'll never happen again in law school or legal practice. But don't send the addendum right away. Go to sleep. Re-read your essay the next day, with fresh eyes. Hopefully you'll then realize how stupid this sounds and move on with your life.
