I was accepted in early October to George Washington with a better scholarship than I thought I would get ($28k/y). Gw is one of several schools I was looking at but I don't think I will be hearing back from the others until later in the cycle. I definitely want all of my offers in hand before I make a decision, unless I get something crazy like a full ride. I guess am just wondering what is expected of me going forward in the short term? Do I need to contact them now? The deposit deadline is in April and I think it would be weird to not speak with the admissions office before then. Should I try and negotiate now or wait to hear back from other schools?
Any advice is appreciated.
Thanks.

It’s not weird not to have contact with the admissions office till then.
I would say that you should wait till you have offers from other schools before negotiating, but it depends on how those schools compare to GW. If they’re peers or higher ranked, I’d wait. If they’re lower ranked, they’re not likely to provide much leverage, and you might well give negotiating early a shot.

Agree that it's fine to wait till March/April before talking to admissions, but if it bothers you then pretty easy to reach out now and ask for additional information, alumni you could talk to, etc.

Okay thank you both. I applied widely because I am a splitter there a few that are peer schools. I will hold off for now since I don't really have anything to say except thanks for the acceptance. Would make this easier if they just added a line in the acceptance email saying we look forward to speaking to you around a certain time.

That's pretty much what the deadline deposit is. You seriously don't have to talk to them before then, if at all, and while schools do negotiate, they're not going to put an invitation to do so in your acceptance materials.
