Question about transcripts
After my Bachelor's degree in engineering, I attended a graduate school and obtained my Master's degree. But the graduate school cannot provide my transcript for its specific reason when I apply law school.
In this circumstance, could I only submit the transcript during my undergraduate, and in my personal statement I still involve my Master's degree as I cannot fabricate my experience during the application. Will the lack of graduate transcript affect my application?

Re: Question about transcripts
Yes. You are required to submit transcripts from all the educational programs you've attended, including graduate programs. I suppose if you could get some kind of statement from the grad program about why they can't provide the transcript, you could try submitting that instead. But I think that would only work if their choice not to provide a transcript is outside your control (like the school has closed or the program is shut down). If it's something within your control (like they're not giving you a transcript b/c you owe them money or you still need to complete a course), I don't think it will help you.

Re: Question about transcripts
Thanks a lot for your kind analysis nixy. It's due to the graduate school's specific policy which is out of my control. I'm browsing for law schools' requirements now to find out if any law school JD program only need undergraduate transcript. Hopefully there are some law schools with friendly policies.nixy wrote:Yes. Is this an American university? I've never in my life heard of a school that refuses to release transcripts for any reason. You can literally order one for yourself and make it into an art installation. What's their policy justification for not letting graduates access their own records?

Re: Question about transcripts
All accredited law schools are going to require the grad transcript, so there’s no point in searching specific schools. And I agree with cav, it makes no sense that a school wouldn’t give you a transcript. If it *really* is the case that the school doesn’t give out transcripts, at all, to anyone, full stop, I’m sure that some kind of documentation of that policy would fulfill the requirement. It’s just hard to believe that actually is the policy for all students.

thx nixy. I'll try again communicating with the grad school to find the document of their policy or other equal materials. I understand it's hard for the law school to believe this situation too.nixy wrote:All accredited law schools are going to require the grad transcript, so there’s no point in searching specific schools. thx cavalier. It's not an American institution. The policies/rules sometimes tend to be arbitrary in my region, as there is no custom of respecting for rule of law. I'll try to figure out this problem. I think it's not the time to give up applying, especially due to some condition that seems unreasonable and out of my control.cavalier1138 wrote:Is this an American university?
