Hi guys,
Long time lurker. I took the November LSAT and scored on the lower end of my average for PTs (mid-160s). I felt that I could have done better but decided to send in my application anyways. Afterwards I read on LS admissions forums, including this one, that people had success in using the Feb. Test for scholarship negotiations and/or getting bumped off the WL. So I decided to sign up for the Feb. Test.
Anyways, I just received a Waitlist from one of my top two schools (the other hasn't gotten back to me yet but I am expecting a WL or Acceptance with no money). I was pretty bummed about it, but at least I have a little bit of hope with the Feb. Test.
My question is should I go ahead and send a LOCI right now telling them of my plan to retake in Feb. or should I just send an e-mail now and wait to send the LOCI until I get my Feb. score back in mid-March. I may be overthinking this whole thing, but I just know that these admissions officers probably get a little bit annoyed with constant letters and emails from the same students. If worst comes to worst I am more than happy to just sit out and apply next cycle but I do feel like I am playing with nothing to lose right now, so why not at least try to use the Feb. Test for negotiations.
Thank you guys for all of the tips and help on this question and many others. This forum has been a lifesaver!

I would hold off on the LOCI until you have your improved score in hand. Something to keep in mind is that if you improve dramatically, you may be better served by reapplying in September.
