Jobs while waiting...

Post by pnl » Wed Dec 04, 2019 2:51 pm

My job is (probably) about to end so I need work for the next 8-9 months until school starts. My applications are in, and I already have one T-14 acceptance.

Does it matter what kind of work I get at this point? Do these 8-9 months matter on the resume once you start heading to the career office and applying for 1L/2L internships? Ideally, I'd love to be doing something interesting, but I also need to pick something up as soon as possible. What should I be thinking about here? Is it purely just.. "nah just go earn money because it's all about grades", or do I need to be more forward-looking? I have significant work experience behind me, but I also have an atypical situation where there's no clear profession for me to just slip back into for 9 months.

Thanks!

Not really, in that there's not a ton you can do to add to your resume in such a short timeframe. I'd do something genuinely interesting like working for a political campaign, tending bar, working on an organic farm in Canada, etc.
