Applying pending LSAT score

Post by lawguy999 » Tue Nov 12, 2019 8:32 pm

I have what might be a dumb question. What is the point of applying earlier but indicating that the schools should delay reviewing the application pending an LSAT score? If they have to wait anyways, why not just wait until you have the score before submitting? Not a rhetorical question, but thanks in advance for assistance.

There isn't really any point. I think some people do it hoping that their app will look "earlier" to adcomms, but the point in applying early is to get the best shot at scholarship money you can, and since schools won't make any decisions on scholarships until reviewing an application, it's not going to help just to have an earlier date on the application. Though some people probably just want to get the application done and out of their hair.
