GPA Addendum?

Post by zybhlyz » Fri Jul 26, 2019 10:21 am

My final gpa is 3.3 and my sophomore year gpa is around 2.9.
My grandfather passed away that year and there was a succession dispute on his foreign property with my uncle. I collected evidence about my grandfather's will and prepared statement with lawyers while studying at school. And I needed to fly to the country and explain some evidence to the judge.

Should I write a GPA addendum?

Yes, I think you should. What schools are you trying to apply to?
Is there anyway for you to boost your GPA or did you graduate already?

Regardless, your GPA was going to be below median at most schools, and may well be below the 25th percentile. The addendum might be worthwhile if you think a school is going to be concerned by a single year of anomalous grades but I'd keep it to a single paragraph. You don't need or want the school to focus on your GPA.

Personally I'm not sure it will be helpful. Focus on getting a stellar LSAT.
