Starting law school again after leaving for Health Issues
Hello All: I am a former law student. Due to serious health issues, I started having to go back and forth to school in spurts. During my very last year, I had a major health scare and could not finish. When I tried to return almost a year later, i was informed that I should "go on with my life" instead of going back to school. Yes....those words were said to me. In any case, i suffered extreme depression for quite a few years after that statement because I truly believed that I had NO chance in going back to school. I had never been up under any type of academic probation for grades or anything but for some reason, having a disability at my school was looked at in such a negative light. Now, that I am older (and I hope, wiser), I have no problem in fighting for what I want/need. Anyway, I digress. My question is: Has anyone been at law school and had to leave for any reason for an extended period of time and had to apply again as a new student? From what i'm understanding, I have to start all over again from a 1L status. I'm not sure if I have to (or should) retake the LSAT again since I did all right the first time (and I didn't even know to study for it)! Boy oh boy...the memories behind THAT sad piece of ignorance. LOL. Ignorance is NOT bliss, ok? If you did have to go through the entire process again, did you apply to the school you left? Did you apply to a whole new school? If so, did you retake the LSAT and what happened after you reapplied? Thanks in advance for any help!!
