Tell me About Berkeley Law
Is it true that out of all the T14, Berkeley Law considers softs the most? For example, being the first in your family to attend college, Being a minority (not even a URM but maybe Middle Eastern), being poor, being LGBTQ, or having played a college sport?

They may consider them at the margins, but if you don't have the GPA and the lsat, you aren't getting in.

So there's this magical place called Berkeley in the hills of San Francisco. Some say it's heaven on earth. Others say it's just earth on rainbows... either way, it's fucking cool.

Re: Tell me About Berkeley Law
Berkeley Law alum here. I can say that I know people who were admitted to HLS but not Berkeley and people who were admitted to Berkeley and no other T14 law schools. So the individualized review is real. The school does care a lot about choosing an interesting and diverse class and building a unique culture. That said, most of the class is probably a typical T14 class -- high 160s or 170s LSAT score and a high GPA mostly from selective undergrads. But even if that is not your profile, I think its worth taking your shot. In the grand scheme of life an application fee is a small thing. And, FWIW its an amazing place to go to school and exceeded all my expectations in opening doors for me. I would choose Berkeley again in a heartbeat.
Best of luck with the application!
