Taking the LSAT for the first time in JUNE for FALL Admission
I understand I am under the gun with a one shot one kill situation. I take the LSAT in June and apply the day after for August 2018 admission. I am currently scoring in the 160-165 range right now. My GPA is a tad low but I have an addendum to that due to a health reason. Does anyone have ANY advise on how to improve my situation with law schools and my super late applications?

This isn't a thing. Even if you crush it, you won't be able to be admitted with a June score.

This is not accurate, I met with several schools who said they would consider a June LSAT Score...

Fixed that.sparkytrainer wrote:This isn't a thing. Even if you crush it, you won't be admitted to a school worth attending with a June score.

You have to realize that you won't get your score until July, also. Not gonna happen this year m8.

A truly bad plan. Most (if not all) of the better schools will be done with admissions and/or pulling people in from waitlists. As has already pointed out, the only schools that would jump at the chance to admit a July applicant would be schools you'd want to run from.royalwcheese22 wrote:This is not accurate, I met with several schools who said they would consider a June LSAT Score...
What if someone told you that they would give you $100,000-$150,000 or more if you worked for a year at any job and then eased into the law school application process as if the rest of your professional life depended on it?
That would be the way to do it. Select your school (rather than the other way around) and get your LSAT to scholarship-worthy levels.

Alright everybody, there's no need to be so negative. OP clearly understands that they're in a tough spot but it's clear they're going for it either way so you might as well offer something at least a LITTLE helpful. Yes, applying with a June LSAT score is an incredibly bad idea, but if you're going to go ahead and do it either way make sure you include in your addendum a good reason for doing so. You should have already asked all schools for fee waivers (quick email to their admissions office and you're done) and gotten your app ready, so you're studying for the LSAT and not trying to get everything together for your application (transcripts, LORs, etc.) Really the only thing that can save you is an incredibly high score on the LSAT and incredible softs. You can also (and it might even be a better idea to) go ahead and submit your app and just request that they review it but wait for your June score (which won't come out until July). I live in Florida and every (in-state) school I've ever talked to has said they will consider June scores. Good luck with everything and really try to kill it.

Sorry, but I think all the responses telling the OP to wait were extremely helpful. Getting into a school that will lead to career employment and getting a nice chunk of cash for said school is optimal. Compacting the timetable and thereby severely limiting options is a crappy path and should not be encouraged.

Maybe it's a bad idea, but the vast majority of law schools outside of the Top 14 are still accepting applications well into June.
A more interesting question is whether June LSAT can be used to negotiate better scholarships (and if law schools are still offering scholarships at all at that point). I've seen contradictory info on this, and I'm specifically interested in U of Miami (and similar Tier-2 schools).

Miami is really not hard to get into. As far as scholarships you're definitely in a tight spot but I was admitted within 4 days of submitting my application with a $20k scholarship and my numbers are absolute garbage. If you have the numbers, I think you will be ok as long as you submit your application and just make sure they're aware you're taking the test in June. Yes, if you were trying to get in to a T20 school you would have zero chance, but if somewhere like Miami is really what you're going for I think you're fine.jgloster wrote:Maybe it's a bad idea, but the vast majority of law schools outside of the Top 14 are still accepting applications well into June.
