When corresponding with admissions offices about admin/interviews/status errors, is it okay to follow up with something along the lines of "Thank you for ABC. XYZ is still one of my top schools and I look forward to hearing from the committee in the coming months"?
Or should I keep the content of the email only on the topic of discussion?
I wasn't able to get an interview for one of my schools, so they sent me an email letting me know. Even though I can't interview, I want to reinforce that they're one of my top schools. I know it's not going to make or break my application, but I'm on the bottom cusp of a few reach schools and figure it couldn't hurt to reiterate my interest -- just want to make sure that it's not annoying them if I do.
Is it weird to reiterate interest in casual correspondence outside of LOCI? Forum

It really depends on which school this is.
If it's a school like Northwestern, and you couldn't get an interview because scheduling didn't work out, then it seems appropriate. If it's a school where the interview is actually a required step in the process, then no, that's creepy.
