Re: HELP ME.
Depends on your goals. If you want to go to WUSTL for free, my understanding is that 168 will get it done. If you want to go to a t13 then you should be shooting for as high as possible bc it's not worth it to go to one of those at sticker. You should read around the forum to get an idea of what you need for money from your target schools. I suspect 170/3.9 gets into all/most of Penn through Cornell, but I have no clue what this would net you in terms of scholarship. Maybe someone else can chime in.
Would you get a refund for September if you withdraw? If not, I see no reason why not to take it and hope for the best since schools only care about your top score. Even if you can get a refund I might still take it if I were you. As for retake, I do not really like the plan of taking in Dec. and applying in Jan. bc applying late in a cycle may put you at a disadvantage for admissions or scholarship money.
If your Sept. score is not high enough for the schools you're targeting then the best option is probably to retake in December or February (December might not be enough time to improve as much as you want). Sit out until next cycle. Then by waiting you also have the June test as a backup in case you want to try a third time.

Re: HELP ME.
look at the c/o 2020 admissions spreadsheet - NYU, Penn, Michigan, Duke, UVA all have 169 median and a 75th of 170. And your GPA is above median at all except Penn, where your gpa = median. Shoot for 170.kiklavan wrote:
Sorry I should have elaborated on the schools I'm targetting. I'm still aiming for T10 schools. I don't have a particular goal in mind within that tier but if I realize I don't stand a chance at like... somewhere like Columbia, I 100% won't apply. Which I understand may be me answering my own question lol
Also, aiming for T10 is a little strange, imo, since 11-13 (Northwestern, Berkeley, and Cornell) are also good schools. Especially if you don't reach 170 (on your first try or retake, or even third attempt) these schools should definitely be on your radar when you do apply because, for example, the same LSAT that it will take for an acceptance at NYU will probably net you an acceptance + some scholarship at Cornell.

Re: HELP ME.
Just take it in September. Worst case scenario, you can take it again in December if you're not happy with your score.
