T14 schools that recommends/requires new PS for reapplying

Post by corgiterrier17 » Thu Aug 24, 2017 12:25 pm

Does anyone know any T14 schools other than Michigan that recommends or requires submitting a new PS for reapplying?

I don't know if other T14's require it. But generally speaking, if you're reapplying it is recommended that you do write a new PS or at least modify your old one. It's for purposes of having something different in your application, basically. At least this is what I've picked up on from other advice I've seen on here about this.

To piggyback off of this, what if it has been years (5+) since you applied and, thus, used a personal statement. Do schools typically hold old applicants' files for that long?

If it has been that long since you applied, you should definitely write a new PS. You are in a substantially different position than you were last time, and your PS should probably reflect that.
