Choosing between:

Cardozo 53K per year. Guaranteed for three years totaling 159k. No conditions or stipulations. School currently costs 56k and change a year.

Seton Hall 47k per year. Must maintain a 2.8 GPA. Schools currently costs 52k and change a year.

3.86 GPA/160 LSAT

Remaining extremely open minded in career paths. I understand how slim my chances are at a large firm opportunity in NYC from either of these schools. With that being said IF I had the top 10 percent grades to even open up that door, does one school give me an edge over the other? It seems Seton Hall has better placement statistics to some extent and have opportunities in NJ and NYC while it seems as if NYC schools including Cardozo and others do not have as many opportunities in both states? Does one have a better reputation in the NYC market? Does one give me a better chance at simply landing a decent job (60k plus) immediately after I graduate? I'll be living in NYC with family so cost of living will not be a big concern. I am trying to remain as realistic as possible with possible career options from either school and I believe being rent free and the amount of tuition offered will make either school extremely affordable options. Is there a clear cut better option? I visited both schools and liked them both.

Cardozo is the clear-cut second best option. Be prepared for not even getting that $60k+ salary out of the gate at either place though. Be comfortable with potentially quite a bit less.

All jokes aside, I had lower numbers than you and got into way better schools. Did you apply broadly?

I got into Fordham's evening program with a 10k scholarship as well as William & Mary with a 15k scholarship and Washington & Lee with a 15k scholarship. Only interested in NYC/NJ market and would rather live at home to cut cost of living.

Cardozo gives you a better chance of biglaw. Albeit that chance is about 18%. Good luck, my man.

I'd go Cardozo since you're not from NJ nor are intent on breaking into that market.

It would be ideal to study better and retake for a higher score (with your GPA you can get into Columbia or NYU), but Cardozo at that price is your better option for your goals if you don't want to retake.

Keep in mind with Seton Hall, a lot of their employment numbers are puffed up because of NJ state clerkships. Not saying that's a bad outcome, but they're not cushy, long-term jobs.
