Is the situation as dire for K-JDs at Harvard as it appears?
H's website claims that 80% of the latest class spent at least a year out of undergrad. Are they receiving a disproportionate number of non-KJD applicants? Or are they hell-bent on limiting the number of K-JDs to 20-25%?

I wouldn't say they're hellbent, but they tend to grill k-jd's a bit in the Skype interviews. So k-jd's are viewed somewhat negatively and should have a good reason for why law now.

Correlation =/= Causation
Literally just get above both medians and you're in.

I guess my question is disproportionate to what? You don't know what percentage of K-JDs make up the pool of applicants (or to be fairer, numerically competitive applicants).presidentspivey wrote:H's website claims that 80% of the latest class spent at least a year out of undergrad. Sure, should have clarified. For theses purposes, let's say HYSCCN. Is Harvard receiving significantly more competitive non-KJD applicants than the other schools, or are they just rejecting more KJD's? Or is 20-25% a standard KJD rate across the T6?A. (KJD 1L at H here)
I think there is probably a very slight bias against KJD applicants. I will echo an earlier poster who mentioned that it seems to come out a little during the interview. That isn't to say that the interview has a different tone (it is still very friendly) but that almost all of my interview was spent talking about a summer job that I had done; they seemed intent on knowing that I had worked a semi-serious job before (and admitted as much at the end of the interview). Basically, at the very margins being KJD might hurt a small bit, but get both stats above median and it won't matter. Don't let Po$eidon's tale scare you; If I remember correctly that poster had a fairly serious C&F issue.
